I know a lot of people were unsure about the protagonist being voiced, but as for me when I saw the Mass Effect style conversation wheel I knew I was home. With all the customization options that will be included in Fallout 4 I can say goodbye to daylight for a long time when it's released. E3 has only just started but I think Bethesda has already won it all.

After doing some thinking. I'm actually glad how Fallout 4 went. It's just The voice protagonist threw me off the way it was presented as mass effect. But after doing some mods or just getting used to the voice I think this game will be amazing other than that.

So Fallout 4 gameplay has been finally showcased! And I know that for me, the wait was worth it. The new features, the combat, world, desgin, etc look incredible. What are your thoughts about the game? The voiced protagonist doesn't sit well with a few of my friends, but I personally enjoy the change.
Your topic "Fallout 4 E3 Discussion" was merged here, with the "Bethesda E3 discussion" topic, by @snowglobecollector ... in case you were wondering.
Things confirmed! Jetpacks Vertibird combat great customization crafting buidling create your own settlements And of course the release of Fallout 11/10/15 Character Voice
Lets here from everyone what did you think about that Bethsoft Showcase. Me personally am so excited about the release and will get the Fallout Shelter App for my phone. I think the game looks great and have no complaints as of now. I am a little speechless right now and the whole time Fallout 4 was being showcased I could not stop smiling. I already know what game I am pre-ordering.
Also for anyone who wants one if you didnt check out the video on youtube live stream then I will tell you they are handing out Pipboys which you can put your phone in(and get a pipboy phone app) with the Collectors edition purchase.
Yup, this is all cool man. And there are still babies crying for graphics...

Full Fallout 4 e3 coverage all 28:43 minutes of it. Ok they state that you make it into the vault during/after the blast, our guy was smashed with radiation the dad. Then they go on to saying 200 years later emerges the sole survivor of vault 111.
The mr handy recognizes you "the dad/guy in the begining" even stating its 200 years later, you have no memory of what happened between now and then saying its impossible. We know cryosleep is not a life saving thing in fallout. Look at Mr House and Look at those from the tranquility lane simulation. What I think happened is some how you are the only one to be successfully have their conscious transferred into an Android in a grueling vault experiment.
Does this blow your mind? hahaha well enjoy the Full Coverage of E3's FO 4 reveal.

My theory is that the player character is actually an Android developed by MiT. There are two scenarios in my theory:
1. You are an android that was developed after the Great War. For whatever reason, researchers at the Institute implant the memories of a dead vault 111 inhabitant into you, and seal you within the vault, long after all of its occupants have died. You awake in the vault, believing that you're the sole survivor of Vault 111, and the story kicks off.
2. You are a highly advanced android that was developed by Vault Tec before the Great War. But, since you have a family and a child, this option seems much less likely.
I really can't see anything else but you being an android explaining how you survived for 200 years. It's possible that cyrogenic technology could have been involved, but why are all the other Vault 111 occupants dead? And how would Bethesda explain cyrogenic freezing, when it was revealed in Fallout 2 that attempts at said procedure resulted in death?

Very likely if your family is gone, that about sums it up, or it was a vault tech experiment and your the only successful candidate since the common wealth is the home of androids in the fallout world. Notice as he comes out of the vault he is not filled with grief that his wife and child are gone. Any sane PERSON would be filled with it.

or simply the Institute was enough Technologically advanced to successfully use cryostasis...since Mr House may have a not-so-asdvanced ( or simply different ) Cryochamber system which didn't prevent from simply aging ( or maybe he was already tat way before the war and nobody knew, or simply he didn't perfect it like Vault-Tec.
Tranquility Lane more than Cryistasis transferred literally the counsciousness to the Vitual World...which didn't necessarily prevent aging.

I just rewatched the combat scenes and I have a few notes the crosshair is dynamic, which is cool. modders taught them that
also, when you shoot at the protectron in that hotel, the dog's name is "Dogmeat"
the synth droids are terrifying and the raiders have some very awesome gear especially masks and helmets
that armored super mutant tho is he hitting you in your own home base?
the "execute critical" option in VATS is impressive especially with melee, I think, like when he smashes that raider's face lol
friggin radscorps are hiding under the dirt now that should scaare the shit outta me a few times
but the most impressive parts are still how you enter the power armor and how you fly with it
And WOW! you fire a rocket straight in a power armor, and he barely flinches! the armor takes the whole force of it, I think his shoulder plates fall down, but he's still standing
and oh my gawd the gears and meters in the power armor UI are better than NFS ui lol
I think you fight a lot of brotherhood guys Howard just blew up a Brotherhood initiate in a vertibird lol
anyway, I'm sure @Apoqsi will pick the clips clean of detail can't wait to see!
Everything looked good to me, no complaints. I'm still going to wait a year or so to buy FO4, just so that there are some DLCs & any bugs are patched, either by Bethesda or by modders...plus waiting allows the mod library to build up a bit, the Script Extender team to develop their tools, FO4Edit to be released and so on. I'm not in that big of a rush to buy the game. The earliest I might pick it up would be after the 'GECK' for FO4 is released (or whatever they are going to call it). I'm just being practical about this and trying to avoid the frustration that always accompanies Bethesda games when first released.
I'll probably pick up Witcher 3 before I get FO4 TBH Glad I waited on that one, since there were so many issues with the PC port on release day.

I'm absolutely in love with the armor and gun customization. It gives a feel of you using what you choose, rather than just using whatever you find, and what the devs made to be the best. It's going to be amazing testing out all the different combinations to see what fits my playstyle.
@Gyrard - I totally agree. The variety of laser rifles alone was staggering.
Off-topic, but I really like your avatar.
Let's not forget this applies to armors as well. This truly solves the problem of the previous fallout games, where guns and outfits weren't very varied.

Witcher 3 worked great for me at launch, the main issue with the PC version came a couple of weeks later - when a patch broke exp gains from low level quests. Even then, it was so amazing I still played anyway >.<
Sadly my PC is a few years old now, and heats up pretty badly playing W3 (despite the game running incredibly well on it) so I am waiting for my new computer to arrive before I play any more of it.
First of all I really liked a lot of the new features (Vertibird with minigun OMFG).
But a couple of things have me worried:
1. During the Pip-Boy Demo there was no "Skills" Tab to be seen? Someone please tell me I overlooked something. It would be horrifying if the skills system would be dumbed down.
2. The Pipboy looks great, but with the animations (when inserting a holotape e.g.) will no doubt make it complicated to get a "readius" Style Handheld Pibboy. (Which I can'T live without)
3. Dialogue: Only 4 answers possible? Will the dialogue change if you play with INT = 0? Also the voiced Player Character - i generally like it, but I hope you can turn it off (when in First person e.g.) Not only for immersion, but also for the quest mods that will be released at some point

That was one of the greatest events I've seen. Im so happy with the way the game looks and more importantly the gameplay looks insane! Bethesda has really outdone themselves. This game will be a masterpiece and I cant wait to sink a portion of my life into this wasteland!
The DOOM gameplay was so good, all the executions really appealed to my sadistic side. Also, the fallout 4 weapons system looked amazing. All the different combinations of weapon styles will keep me entertained for weeks. I was just a bit upset they didn't discuss the modding possibilities that pc gamers could bring to the table.
