| I really like Dead money for some reason, when you enter you just want to leave quickly, but then you find all about the loot and stuff and you want to carry it all with you ,i think it really fits the theme of the dlc. _________________ |

| I just love the atmosphere of Old World Blues. So silly, but dangerously so. Plus we got to learn where cazadores came from. it was mad scientist, turned up a couple kilowatts. _________________ Ummmmmm........ just wanted to say... |

My favorite DLC extension would have to be Broken Steel because it extended the gameplay almost infinitely unlike New Vegas' ending to where you can't keep playing after the end and see what the effects of your Hoover Dam victory has caused.
Broken Steel continued the story and kept your choices whether you infected the water with the F.E.V Virus or instead accomplished your mother's and father's dream and gave unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
So that leaves you, The VGU community to vote and discuss your favorite story-driven DLC for the Fallout video game series. ...Off topic but... | I have to say either Old World Blues or Lonesome road. The story for both was great and so was the gameplay. Worth every penny on those. _________________ You're a funny guy Sully, that's why I'm gonna kill you last. -Arnold Schwarzenegger

| I feel like tribals is an essential part of the Fallout lore which has been neglected since Bethesda acquired the IP, which is why I think Honest Hearts is one of the best DLC packs made. Considering you play all of FO2 as a tribal, they have next to no presence in FO3 or FO4 despite being an integral part of the universe.
I have a personal fondness for the tribal factions because I love the idea of modern man regressing to a simpler lifestyle, incorporating modern things into their constructed faiths and rituals, sometimes unknowingly. It's very charming and there is an earnest, nice simplicity to it.
It makes sense that groups of people, isolated from the larger world would build their own languages, traditions and rediscover old methods of hunting and living together. That tribals often thrive where raiders pillage and wastelanders merely survive is a testament to how different and interesting these factions can be in an otherwise predictable setting. It is probably unsurprising that my favourite follower is Sulik, and I enjoy having a strong, honour-bound warrior as a companion who can look at the world with different eyes and often offer insightful and unique commentary.
That Follows-Chalk couldn't be a permanent follower in NV was a travesty, and that Cito couldn't be a permanent follower in FO4 was just plain shameful. It's a part of the lore I wish they'd stop ignoring. In a world full of bad guys and poor farmers trying to restore society, there's more than enough room for people who have gone back to the basics and choose to live a more spiritual life closer to the recovering nature.
And of course, Joshua Graham was one of the best written characters in the whole franchise to date. _________________ |

| Old World Blues. The writing is hilariously well-done, the environment and premise interesting, the rewards my favorite out of any DLCs to date. _________________ |

| Triggering Post Incoming My favorite DLC's for each game usually are the ones that manage to balance gameplay with a likable story. That said, the only DLC that I really hold close to my heart is Mothership Zeta; which for some reason always makes people angry. The Story-Oriented DLC's made by Bethesda are meh, which seems to corroborate that they really don't know the franchise, but classic dungeons are Bethesda's bread and butter, so it works better than the others in a way. Obsidian's DLC is nearly the exact opposite; Wonderful, rich stories with meager and un-inventive gameplay. Not to say they're all bad; the only bad DLC put out for the franchise was Contraptions lmao. Here's a condensed list/tldr for my favs Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta; Great dungeon crawl, unique weapons, fun story; 10/10 Fallout NV: Dead Money; Intense atmosphere, flawed characters, and spooks; 7/10 Fallout 4: Automatron; Basically the same as MZ, but less quality. Good dungeons, couple of unique doodads, and a serviceable story. |

| Imo i liked operation anchorage because of the setting it puts you in and the fact that you can go in the fallout universe before all the bombings happened. _________________ |

| @"fartingdog12" Yeah, but it felt a bit odd; like it was trying to have the DOOM-esque health packs with a weird squad system. The best part was the loot-trove at the end though :p |

| Lonesome Road because of how epic it ties in the other DLC's and the couriers backstory by having this antithesis to your character. Plus the final battle was my top favorites of all time.
Old World Blues just because of the characters and writing - it also had the most interesting places and loot to explore/collect. _________________ |

| Nice post, my all time favorite is Dead money, but the other dlcs are bad so i think i might just go through them all and judge them. Operation: Anchorage: 6/10 Really nice, had good potential but the DLC was too easy and quick to finish even when grabbing the intel. I got to a point where i was able to know where all the Intel was so the DLC would get finished quick time. The main point for me is the fact the area is really nice, i love the scenery and the cold atmosphere. Also loved the last bit of the mission, the animations were cool and the Chinese dude was a bad ass. The Pitt: 5/10 I didnt rate this that much, i thought it would be better then it would be to be honest. Im giving it a 5 although im being generous. I was expecting more then what it gave, the outfits and the unique gun was good and was worth getting for Console but moving to PC it no longer had a draw to it. The whole collecting that steel was a pain and the story i didnt rate too well. Broken Steel: 8/10 Really good DLC, love the fact you could continue afterwards, something they should have already had in base game but doesnt matter. I like the extra bit of war with the Enclave, was fun and entertaining. I really loved the extra bit of exploring as well especially on the tracks that was really fun and had an amazing atmosphere. Point Lookout: 9/10 Beats Broken steel just... I cant really name any floors in this. Just an all in all amazing DLC, i loved the map. Really cool enemies and a lot of cool things to explore around the map. The houses was amazing, just a shame about the big mansion really was hoping i could have used that for a player home. I know there is mods for that, but still cool, i think on Console i ended up moving into blackhall manor which was just as amazing so in the end i wasnt too fussed. Mothership Zeta: 4/10 To be honest, i was expecting a lot more from this DLC, really cool idea but it just lacked story and game play elements. Such a shame really with it being out of space i thought it was going to be cool. Only cool thing about it was the fact you get a samurai armour and paulsons gear. I dont even want to talk about this DLC anymore otherwise id write and essay. Dead Money:10/10 I know there are alot of people who dislike this DLC, me it was perfect, i loved the red smoke the atmopshere was cool and the enemies are cool. Im really looking forward to running through it again with Drags overhaul for that extra something. The story is amazing really loved the twist in it, the companions are great as well nice character and voice acting. The outfits are really cool you get and i loved the police pistol. All in all the best dlc of fallout 3 and NV by far in my honest opinion. I loved the whole Vera Keyes music as well as her hologram though im hyped about Dragbodys change of that cause she looks amazing.Such an amazing scenery and atmosphere. Honest Hearts: 6/10 Where to start, Daniels and Graham's outfit and the 45 pistol was probably the best part really about this Dlc in my opinion. The scenery was really nice to look at, but for me it seemed rushed and lacked a really good story. The places to explore i felt wasnt as interesting as it could have been. Old World Blues: 9.5/10 My 2nd best DLC to be honest, i just loved it the place was just so fun to explore. The music radio that came with it was really good too. I used to listen to that a fair amount i also loved the fact it would play Vera theme which is why ive given it an extra 0.5 hahah The story was pretty cool too, and the sink was a great player home with things you can talk/interact with just made it a better vanilla player home than any others. I love exploring this entire map, such good places and some really good reference around the place just such a joy to explore. I love the enemies aswell and the weapons you get, just a good DLC, i feel New Vegas got better DLC then Fo3 did, only one i really loved was Point look out, and it would be the only one id wish could be ported over to new Vegas. I know there is TTW, but just that DLC would have been cool for me. Lonesome Road: 7/10 Final one, LR. Okay not a bad Dlc, certainly could have been cool but it was still not bad at the end of the day. The atmosphere was cool and the map was really well built up. The story was cool, and Ulysses had a pretty epic voice, i loved the support from E.D.E was well that was cool and learning about his history. The outfits and the Riot Shotgun i really loved, fit really well and they were certainly a drawing point to the game. I liked the marked men as well the fact they worked together, just a really cool idea. I didnt want to go into much detail so kept it brief. But thats my scores, i voted for Dead Money as my all time favorite. _________________ General of Maou: KyousukeNo matter how sturdy something appears, it should have some weakness. |
