| Looking at the E3 gameplay and such, it looks like power armor makes you almost impervious to small arms fire such as pistols, shotguns, basic rifles, and so on, meaning the real threats come from explosives, armor piercing/high velocity rounds, and big things like Deathclaws or Behemoths. How do you feel about that? Does it detract from the difficulty of the game? Do you feel it's fitting for how power armor will be?
There's also the matter of the jetpack draining your AP while in use and doesn't provide an incredible amount of thrust, meaning you'll have to ration it if you like using VATS. Does this seem reasonable? |

| It depends on how it's implemented. If it's done right, I think it's a realistic step. I see Power Armor as a personal weapons platform - that is to say, it's designed to turn a person into a tank, rather than being a vehicle itself. Kind of like the Master Chief's armor in halo, though not quite that advanced (IIRC if a regular human tried to put on Spartan Armor they'd basically kill themselves because they aren't up to using it physically). As for the Jetpack, that also depends on just how much verticality the game has. If it's got a lot, which given how city-like the city is that seems like a possibility, I also wonder if they'll give you some kind of method to deal with that outside of power armor as well. Some kind of grappling hook maybe? This is of course wild and unsubstantiated speculation, so yeah _________________ - Lady of The Singularity_________________ You exist because we allow it. | I think weapons that uses higher caliber bullets can still penetrate it, there might be some sort of simple armor penetration system to it like a tank.
@EDIT: There was a scene in the gameplay where you shoot a mutant wearing a scrap piece of chest power armor, and the player shot it with a shotgun and the armor broke and shows its internal structures, that'll probably how it will work on you as well, your armor take a certain amount of damage, it breaks, then your health takes damage. |

| I think its a major step of from 3. I like that its more of a vehicle than just an equip-able armor. _________________ |

| I think it is blanced becuase in the trailer you could see that your mobility was decreased and also power armor seems to be something more special and desirable then in previous games. |

| Wasn't there a mod in New Vegas that did something similar with regards to how power armor took damage, or was that just a ammo/damage mod that effected all armors? Either way, I really like what I saw. Means I can wear something else most of the time, which will be fun with the layer armor/cloths function, and hopefully actually fill like a tank when I am wearing/driving it.
The jet-pack using a lot of ap for only a little boost made sense to me, with how heavy the armor is and how small the jet-pack was. Maybe it is upgrade-able to give you more lift, use less ap and so forth. |

| I feel like difficulty might affect that, overall though it wouldn't be too much of a problem to me since going based on what's s aid in the game the power armor is supposed to be pretty much the equivalent of a walking tank. |

| I think the new power armor gameplay looks amazing. That was actually one of my favorite parts of the trailer/gameplay reveal.
God, 11/10 can't get here fast enough! |

| the fact that you can be airdropped while wearing power armor is the best thing since sliced mole rat. i think the new power armor game-play will be grand. |

| Personaly I dislike the jet pack. Well power armour should be bulletproof for small arms and most bullet type weapons. But does that mena that EMP weapons will be able to shut you down for some amount of time? |

This, so much this. Being dropped in like that, having the ground shatter under you just before you walk around laying waste to everything... that is what Power Armor should be, dammit! |

| I think it would be really neat to see as long as there are weapons that can actually harm the Power armor. Regular small arms fire pistol or rifle should bounce right off. Now if I'm using .308 armor piercing rounds or 12.7mm rounds that should do something. High power energy weapons should also be able to damage power armor in my opinion. |

| I'm sure there will be means of damaging it, and killing the wearer. After all, there's enemies using power armor too. |

| I wonder if an actual .50 caliber gun could pierce the armor... and they give us the possibility in future to equip special rounds like in New Vegas (AP, HP, HE, Surplus, ecc.) _________________ |

| .50 could probably punch through a half inch plate of steal inside of 500 yards easy and theres no way power armor has armor that thick. Then there's depleted uranium or tungsten bullets. If that doesn't do it a shaped charge like an RPG round would cut through that thing realistically like butter. |

However, you're assuming that the army's going to be using plate steel for an armor intended to be, as described in the game data about power armor, "Man-based tanks." The stories and other lore entries in the games even go on to say that the power armor is immune to small arms fire and most ground-fired missiles. The Chobham plating used in modern tanks can absorb multiple RPG blasts, I read a story a few years ago about a Challenger 2 tank that managed to sustain an estimated 50 RPG hits, the tank was still operable and no one within the tank was damaged more than being rocked around a metal box. I'm going to assume that in the 2060's the US army's RnD department has found something better than chobham plating since they managed to make both plasma and laser weaponry, and power armor is said to deflect both. |

| id assume that 2060's era power armor would be some kind of "lightweight" composite metal, lightweight being relative to the alternatives anyway. obviously supplied by the illuminati. |

| Hopefully they make it so Power armor is strong durable and makes you nearly invincible. Yet is really hard to get as there isn't going to be power armor lying around. _________________ Commando in Killing floor is like the garbage man .
