So simple when you download a gun do you want to have to find it in game? Or just open a box outside of good springs and get your awesome gun?
Would you rather find that gun on a ubber hard boss (who uses the gun) thats a new add on to the game? Or would you rather find it in some lame ol box?
So which is it?
The easy way or the hard way?

Usually I end up getting the easy way because most people make it to where you just find the gun somewhere. But I rather find a boss and beat it to get a weapon it uses. That makes it more fun to use cause you actually earned it.

If it was a well thought mini quest than I wouldn't mind having to "earn" a piece of an equipment. Unfortunately, most people don't do that which is fine as well. Even making a small well thought out quest is a lot of work.

i like it if you have to do a little quest to gain your new weapon/gear/house/companion. even if this "quest" means you have to shoot some bad guys to get your reward.

Depends on the weapon. If its a unique, then yeah, I wanna have to go searching for it. Otherwise I want leveled list support.

It depends. If I'm getting a real high powered weapon or armor, sure make it difficult. But I don't like situations where by the time you are powerful enough to get something, the reward is already weaker than what you used to get it. And for a specific mod I have a problem with is Book of Earache. In Book of Earache you can't change the options for the mod without the Book named after the mod. And you don't get that until you've gone through a whole questline. You shouldn't need to jump through so many hoops just to get the blasted options menu. No other mod I've heard of makes you do that. What was he thinking? I just don't see how that could be conceived of as a good idea. There are plenty of good things about BOE, but that sure isn't one of them.

I'd rather have the creator give us an option when we download it, I'd like to find it the hard way but mostly I just console command it into my inventory.

For me it just depends on what the item is, if it's a powerful weapon or piece of armour then having to work for it doesn't bother me.
If it's something I need for some kind of technical reason then I'd probably just use console commands to get it.

Absolutely the hard way for me...feels more of a reward. ..Bunsaki's Ghost armor is a perfect example. Sure it's up to the creator and his skills...but for f*ck's sake at least place the item (depends how powerful it is) somewhere further in the wasteland and not right at Vault 101 doorstep or Doc. Mitchell's house..

I have no problem with having to go hunting for something. Most of my favourite weapons or homes required me to do specific quests or deal with existing situations that were not easy to overcome. A couple of examples are Blackblossom's "Finger of God" and MrTrigun's M-58A Smartgun. One of the "Finger of God" rifles was in a box sitting in the Behemoth's pen at Evergreen Mills.

I did rather have a "middle way", like a mod where you could choose your own difficulty. So the first you could play on "easy mode" and the second or third time on "hard mode". Because both could be a lot of fun. Since with easy mode you could just play around in the mod and with hard mode is becomes a nice challenge.

For me it really depends honestly for things like weapons I prefer to have both options. Sometimes I prefer to have to gain a weapon other times I just want to be able to get it at my leisure.

I voted for the Hard Way but I'm actually kind of torn on this. It kinda depends on if I'm late-game or early-game. If I know that I'm gonna be exploring and clearing a lot of places then it's cool to find new stuff. But if I just want to try out a new weapon or if I've already cleared the whole map, I'd prefer to know where the stuff is.
Having both options is the best solution.
I wish more weapon/armor mods came with specific quests or areas to go to in order to get the stuff but that is much more work for the modder.

I chose the easy way as most of the things I've downloaded, I want instant access to it so I could try them and see if I like them. If it's items that look cool and that are tied to a specific quest mod (Rockwell pursuit for example) I'm more than happy to go through the story for it.

Rather have access to them easily especially for weapons so I can see how good they look ingame, if they have good animations, they don't clip through my hands/back etc. Especially since most screenshots just show the model not ingame.
Rather not have my leveled list cluttered with weapons and whatnot I'm not even going to use.
But if I like the guns after testing them, then I'll use an option that places then in vendors, etc.

Hard Way is fun. For example the New Vegas Bounties or The Inheritance Mods. I like to go on a quest and earn things from boss types. Makes for better immersion and if there is a good quest involved makes it fun.

If you are just testing though that is what the console is for.

I voted for easy, but I do like rewards for challenges. I'd never challenge for weapons, though. I mean, not make people work to use whatever weapons I make in my mods. I have a lot of ideas for quest mods, though, that I like to go about building for, so I'd surely also have rewards in mind for said quests.

Both.
The way Naky does it is the best way, full leveled and form list integration plus a testing copy at the Docs place.
After you're done testing you can simply delete the testing stuff using the GECK or FNVedit, of course if the mod doesn't provide a testing copy i just spawn it in the console.
