I'm currently working on some faction overhauls, but I'm stuck on the NCR. I'm having a hard time deciding what look to give them. The three main options are in the poll above. I can envision the NCR in many different ways...

1. I've posted some pictures recently of standard WW2 themed armors that are similar in style to their vanilla outfits. The vanilla outfits always bothered me not just because they were ugly as sin, but because they also looked extremely warm. These people are always complaining about being hot, but they never put on something lighter! This WW2 overhaul would be lighter weight, high-res and detailed models. It would fit the aesthetic of the game fairly well.

Example: WW2:

2. A few years back, I did almost all the work necessary for a Battlefield 3 NCR overhaul. It was many modern-style tactical military armors with NCR flags and logos. It definitely makes the NCR appear more powerful and organized and the model quality is high, but the modern look doesn't fit everyone's taste.

Example: BF3:

3. A third option that is easily doable is a more improvised, apocalyptic style of soldier. This soldier based on Special Ops: The Line would fit the desert setting and would be militaristic without looking too clean and unblemished. The gear itself is modern, but it is heavily worn and scrappy.

Example: SOTL -- Will be retextured to match NCR color palette:

You're right. I often think the best thing would be to just make them all! And then you could have different styled playthroughs. However, time is precious and I have to make one of them first :p

I'm going to go with the SOTL, purely because it's apocalyptic looking compared, and this is NV afterall.

Plus, there's already a fair few mods that modernize the NCR, None (from what I've seen) that give them an Apocalyptic feel

Personally i prefer Battlefield 3 NCR overhaul sir, its good to see NCR more like a todays army

My choice would be a WW2 Overhaul ^^ That would be perfect with my Captain America Mod ^^

And, euh... There is not enough WW2 American Uniform Mods !
Whereas, there are A LOT of " Modern NCR Overhauls " on the Nexus !

Anyway, My only " request " would be that there is unique uniforms for each " Class " of NPCs... A bit like your Trooper Overhaul That would be awesome ^^

Anyway... I wish you good luck for your mod whatever may be the income of this poll ^^ ( In fact, even if the WW2 option doesn't win, I might check it out anyway )

This proposition might sound strange, but maybe it would be somewhat better to implement some World War I uniforms as well?You see, the uniform of British Expeditionary Forces might actually fit for NCR.There is also a game that has a plenty of assets that could potentially be ripped:I am talking about video game called Verdun 1916.Of course, this is not a demand, it is just a proposition, but, just as I mentioned, it might be good to have those uniforms as well.I will provide some images so that you could better understand my idea.

Option 1 Seems more prewar and gunners like

Option 3 NCR is a new Civilisation that is rising and is able to create its own materials. The uniform looks like a new style brought to the world but at the same time showing it is weathered due to the harsh wasteland. Also considering they can fall under long sieges from the legion it seems logical to carry more gear.

I do like the Battlefield 3 look, but I think that the WW2 outfits that you've shown would feel right at home in the Mojave, so I'd have to go with that.

I have a hard decision voting between WWII and Battlefield 3 because i do like both. I like how WWII style fits in with the NCR and the Fallout universe that it has right now, and then at the same time i do like modern military stuff too. Historically I also like WWII , it is one of my favorite topics but i do like a lot of modern US Military things too. But I am curious about if this would also include their headgear like the helmets. Like would the WWII have M1 Helmets? and the modern one have MICH 2000s or ACH types? Just curious things i thought about.

I'd prefer the WW2 look but it needs some actual defense to me like a breastplate and i could do with a binocular less version ,but what do i know im just a platypus
p.s is this overhaul just looks or weaponry as well ?

Fuck, this is really hard, i'm torn between Battlefield 3 and SOTL, but I guess the one I like the most is Spec Ops. Not only do I love the game itself but I just love the clothing they have since they do look as if they were in a war.

I think that the WW2 model would be great but with some added magazine pouches/chest rigs and maybe a plate of armor would fit the game's aesthetic.

Just a 4th suggestion. If you have other projects to work on you could put this one off, and do a WW1 themed overhaul when Battlefield 1 comes out

Yes, but it's the source code. It needs to be compiled into an executable and I don't have the right programs on this computer to do that. The first link is a complete, working program.

Well, the comunity is in favor of the 3rd option ! Too bad for the WW2 Themed-Overhaul XD I still hope it'll win anyway X) I mean, come on guys... There's plenty of Modern-Style NCR overhaul already ! But, well... If it's made by Dragbody, It'll be great, so... It's Win-Win in any case ! ^^
