right on so diversity among the soldiers

Well I'm in favour of a modern tactical look but regardless of which one you do I'm sure it will be good in quality.

Amazing drag, as always, but I will prefer to see the 3rd option, because I think that it simplifies the NCR in a really good way, because the NCR got the right idea, stay heavily equipped in the harsh wasteland but move quick and stay fast on your feet, I think that would be amazing.

I preffer the WWII style since i think that would be lore-friendly, since Fallout is based off the Cold War era, and has relations/connections to WWII, if they made a faction based off the Roman Empire, why not WWII themes? i thnk WWII themes would fit, since they are friendly to the lore, and would fit in just nice. plus makes the NCR looks nicer, and American. since some NCR's stuff is BASED off WWII, so i think WWII themes would fit the NCR more.

I would prefer the WW2 since it does fit the 1950s retro theme of Fallout + 1950s was very close to the 1940s. But I do like the other armors that are there. Heck maybe have three seperate downloads for those who want WW2, BF3 or Spec Ops: The Line.

But in terms of the other armors, I don't think they'll really match due to the type of weapons that are standard issue to the NCR. I mean I would not like the Service Rifle and a BF3/SOTL uniform as they would not mix well in terms of looks of a Modern Soldier. I mean Weapons of New Millenia/RSA Tactical Weapons would be good for the BF3/SOTL uniform whereas Vanilla Weapons can stay with the WW2.

I hope its not too unhelpful to recommend a design that wasnt put in the poll, but I definietly think stahlmann has the right idea, I imagine the NCR as still developing its manufacuturing and fabrication capabilities, and while they could produce a limited supply of advanced armors, I think it makes sense for the mass produced uniform to demonstrate a nation that is still young and undeveloped in a brutal atmosphere.

I like Option 3 because it looks the most rugged and lore friendly.

Well holy crap am i late, must of have been offline or away when this topic was new, anyways i know that Dragbody is already making the WW2 themed overhaul, and looking at the screenshots i am very impressed, it is looking fantastic, especially the outfits for the Soldiers, but im gonna be honest, i don't like the NPC face changes, not my cup of coffee, i hope that is optional, i like the looks of pretty much the majority of them, i just don't seem to like Colonel Moore, but either way i wanted to suggest something, maybe i am too late or not, but what would you guys think of making a armour where there is a cape attached to it? I know it sounds a bit silly, but im not talking about a Superman style of cape, im talking about a WW1 Soldier cape, here are some images. I saw this for the first time in the reveal of BF1 and something told me that this could fit the NCR.

And as for my vote. I wen't with the Spec Ops The Line version, it was a tough choice between the WW2 and Spec Ops, but i chose Spec Ops in the end, i will still love using them both, and i am loving the WW2 so far but im just more of a fan of the Spec Ops The Line version, it adds that feel and look to it, that while the NCR is a very powerful Military and they have a very strong reputation their Military equipment is taking a massive beating, i like that feel to it, it just feels immersive. While it is still very Modern and Elite equipment it is slowly decaying.

I like 2 & 3 but I just feel ww2 is more appropriate for the NCR since the Fallout universe takes a much greater inspiration from a time period that is more closer to ww2 than modern times.

WW2 seems more lore friendly than BF3 and SOTL. besides, the NCR's vanilla armor doesn't look to dissimilar from that of the World War One American Infantryman. WW2 wouldn't be that far from the NCR's tech level.

WW2 would be nice but really it should be Vietnam, In theory it's very similar clothing, practically the same however the americans Vietnam war attire suits warmer climates and in my opinion would look better in a desert compared to the heavy and long-shirted fatigues of ww2 infantry

really you need something that looks rugged yet comfortable, you can't have most soldiers looking pristine or completely organised  just the higher ranks, you need them to wear the same or similar colour pallet and that's it, that way you give off the impression that this army is stretched thin and it can't supply all it's forces. (as someone mentions at the 188 trading post)

on the other hand that spec ops the line does look inticing, as long as there's a standalone version I will be right as rain

Of the 3, I choose option 3 as I thought that would be more lore-friendly. The Apoc-Theme seems to suit the NCR best as they were formed after the war.

Spec ops the line for me, it is one of my favorite armors you have done and i think it just fits Fallout so well, i think it would look great on the NCR.

WW2, absolutely. It wouldn't make sense otherwise (assuming this is meant to be lore-friendly). When the bombs dropped the US military had a style going which mostly resembled the gear used in the interim between the Korean War and the outbreak of Vietnam.
There is no large-scale production of gear outside the NCR's own factories which could inspire them, so what would they get their inspiration from? Pre-war military outfits of course, that would be the most advanced thing known to them so that would be the obvious place to start. Basing their outfits around what worked in the past and making small improvements.

They wouldn't jump over 70 years worth of design and straight to modern warfare tactical camo, especially not considering how stretched thin the NCR is at the point of NV. They make due with the most sensible and cheaply produced uniforms they can produce, and their helmets being stamped metal brodie replicas was a nice touch as well. So definitely WW2, not too modern. It's not the Brotherhood of Steel after all.

Honestly, if it was an option I'd vote WW1 and suggest checking out the uniforms from the multiplayer game Verdun. The troops in the Mojave were mostly WW1 inspired, so if it was possible to implement some of the things like gaiters and greatcoats, that would be keeping in line with the aesthetics of the faction a lot more.

I dig all your work Dragbody, needless to say, I'm gonna have to go for the WWII theme, because the vanilla feel of the NCR Army is very much inspired by WWII and seeing a some uniforms inspired by the WWII and Korean era WWII uniforms just aids to it a little more. The modern theme, while I really dig it and love the tactical look of it, I feel it's been overdone and driven in the ground, plus you've done a ton of modern tactical BF style mods. Same with the apocalyptic spec ops the line

Though frankly, one thing I'd love to see is a Vietnam style since it seems there's a hint of Vietnam in the NCR Army at times. Maybe in some future work you might consider adding a flavor of 'Nam to another NCR overhaul mod.

Yup, I've always digged the WWII themed propaganda posters set up all over the Mojave, adds some charm to the wasteland and is just another way the NCR is trying to remind citizens they're exactly like the pre-war US Government.

I'd love to see the WWII theme more too because it feels far more lore friendly and closer to the original character design the devs setup.
