Thinking about this now, that Kotaku article only said that it is an online game so this could mean that the new Fallout could either be a coop or a MMO game.

I wouldnt mind if it was single player with an optional co-op aspect. May be fun playing with a friend. But if it is massively multiplayer, it may not feel like a complete wasteland since thousands of unique god like players are running around the land.

But then again, if servers were small and only a small amount of people were on each server, it may be fun to just suddenly come across another wanderer

To me it all deepens on how this game is handled. Here comes an unpopular opinion here, but I'm not a fan of multiplayer games. Overwatch is the only exception. Otherwise I prefer more singleplayer focused games with a good story and a large map. Of course the rumors going around is it will be an online game which if it's true...I may potentially skip or at least not be as hyped about it.

However. If this is another New Vegas where they use the Fallout 4 assets to make an entirely different story then I'm very much excited! It'll give us a new area to explore. I also heard that Vault 76 supposedly opened 20 years after the great war which means we'll have a savage Wasteland than normal. Anyway. Personally I'm mostly excited unless it's announced to be some sort of online game. But at the moment it's all fan speculation.

I think Coop will be more acceptable compared to a FOOL game in my opinion. It gives the joy of sharing a game with a friend without the immersion breaking and toxicity from randoms.

I guess. But to me the appeal has always been traveling the wasteland on your own. True Co-op is better than online, but I'd still rather do it alone. I think I would prefer what my brother said. That they take a FFXV approach. Where there is a singleplayer and multiplayer option. That way it gives us a choice.

I have no hope for the new game tbh, it'll probably be shite, especially so if it's online based.

Fallout is only singleplayer for me, thats why i love it. And the posibilities with modding has always been something i enjoy. If there is a coop or multiplayer option i can accept that, but if its only multiplayer or the multiplayer impacts the singleplayer or modding then i cant se myself buying it...

I have a feeling it won't be an online based game. From the trailer It looks to be in the fallout 4 engine and I doubt that the fallout 4 engine could handle a multiplayer game. At most the game will have co-op play.

Agreed. I kinda feel like they are going to do the "A Way Out" coop. It would make this game almost unplayable for most(including me) if coop is a "requirement".

I really hope that there is still a single player mode on this game.

I see A LOT of people saying they already hate Fallout 76 because some sources said it would be multiplayer to some extent.

I just don't understand these people TBH.

Firstly, we had NO official confirmation that this will be a multiplayer game. We do know for a fact, however, that Bethesda Game Studios games often implement multiplayer aspect for their game very early during development.
What if the info that leaked about Fallout 76 was VERY old info, with a multiplayer aspect that was scrapped some times after the leak ?

Secondly, yeah, there is a possibility that this game will feature multiplayer content, but we don't know to what extent ! If the multiplayer rumors are true, what if it's a 2 player co-op mode, where you can invite a fellow wastelander to share-in your adventures... Think Fable 2 or 3 for example.

I really don't think that Bethesda will go FULL BLOWN multiplayer MMO with this game. Especially after their " Save Single Player Games " campaign a while ago. You really think they would make such a campaign to fully support single player games ALL THE WHILE working on a multiplayer game ? I skeptical at best...

Anyway, my advise would be to not hate the game already based sorely on speculation, alleged leaks ( believable as they may seem ) and rumors.

As @FafnirEtherion said don't hate this game until his issue but I have also to say don't expect too much about a good fallout game from Bethesda because they take away all the little things we love in true RPG.

I hope this won't be a MMORPG. But it seems cool, promising. 20 years after the bombs, there is a great potential.

lot of negativity going around from FO fans, a shame since we got the same thing from pokemon fans yesterday over virtually the same thing: a spinoff. Its made by BGS so that rules out third party, and its not FO5, it uses FO4 assets... alright, time for some wild speculation.

Its a vault management game, think a combination of the settlement/vault building system in 4 and mix it with shelter, there will probably be some limited questing but the main focus will be on vault development. I'm guessing it will maybe have a sort of animal crossing vibe, but I hope not since that style probably wouldn't work (see: animal crossing is series built on charm where fallout is built on an oppressive atmosphere).
I don't want this, It could be good, but it could also be awful. I'll pick it up if the reviews turn out good, and especially if its some FNV style game, but my bets are that's its not that. I'm certainly not going to complain about it, Im not complaining about the pokemon spinoff we got yesterday for the same reasons. It could be fun, it will appeal to some portion of the fan base, and, if its good, its just more good press towards FO. I'll keep my hopes up but as of right now I'm sort of indifferent.

Yeah, the way I see it, it's too early after 4 for them to be rolling out anything that could be considered an actual entry in the series. I wouldn't expect anything new for Fallout until after the release of Elder Scrolls 17: The Search for More Money. And since Bethesda is the only company credited, as far as I can tell, it's not likely to be something in the vein of NV.

Meaning, I'm almost positive that whatever this thing is will be some spin-off bullshit that doesn't really have anything to add to the franchise, e.g. shelter-app. Bethesda's made it abundantly clear with 4, and especially with creation club, that they don't particularly care the franchise, and just want to make money. So, combine that with rumors of this new thing being online and/or MMO-esque, I have pretty much less than no expectations. I guess Todd Howard needs to buy a yacht for the swimming pool inside of his original yacht.

The Kotaku editor who confirmed it would be co-op also confirmed it wouldn't be an MMO.

Trailer was good, and it was exiciting to see a continue after F4

I pray and hope that a new chapter of Fallout franchise will not be desecrated by bullshit of F4, and will be a certainly a masterpiece of year. But i am uncertain about the plot - maybe Bethesda will be trying to an another Vault Dweller, like from F1 - if it's true, it will be a nice idea of ressurecting the old traditions of post-apocalyptic universe, which have been to be relate.

Why i had suspicions of such places: an answer it will be that the West Coast/East Coast was being overused, and it needs an another location of plot.

Trailer didn't show much but I'm hyped regardless. Kotaku says it's an online survival rpg but they have been wrong before. I hope they implement much of New Vegas aspects into the game making a fusion between FNV and FO4. Now that, would be a game.

Not hyped at all, I strongly believe it is going to be another let down, specially with those two cunts leading the project, Pete Hines who doesn't give a shit about lore and the lord of all lies, Todd Howard. They had proven to progress with this dumbing down chain (which started in 3) i'm pretty sure they will continue to follow this focus on casual gamers, if that's the case i won't be impressed nor disappointed.


It would had be great a Fallout 3 remaster with a BRAND NEW engine though.

My hype died at the thought of an ESO-style Fallout game. I don't want to judge the game yet, seeing as that all we have is a trailer and a semi-accurate Kotaku article.

I thought Bethesda just did a SavePlayer1 program or something stating that they vow to focus on singleplayer games. Fallout 76 being an MMORPG would be Bethesda *literally* seeing how many times they could shoot themselves in the foot. Now, I wouldn't mind Co-op as much, but....ESO....monthly subscriptions (I know ESO did away with that after the fact) but....Ew.

Meh, I'm more hyped for New California and The Frontier or even Asurah Reanimation updates.

But I guess I will give it a go, unless it's just like Fallout 4. The trailer didn't convince me enough.
