| Has anyone tried this stuff yet? They added a whole lot more depth into it for FO4 but I'm yet to find all the new good stuff about the close combat mechanics. For example I just fought a synth in melee (had a sword equipped) and as I tried to power attack it, my character grabbed one of synth's legs , pulled and the synth was flat on the ground, after which i just proceeded to beat it to a pulp. Now the thing is I would love to know how I did it actually, if it's RNG based or if you can pull it off as you wish. So if anyone else is into melee please share your findings here . |

| I'm thinking it's in the same vein as Skyrim's "finisher/execute" system honestly... as I currently have a sword called "General Chao's Revenge", which does 50% damage versus synthetics. For me, I'll sometimes run them through with the damned thing. I will say though that I've found out starting a sprint, and then attacking will initiate some sort of power attack/lunge which does a devastating amount of damage.... and that's not limited to synths either.
I think it goes off the "Luck" stat though... can't be entirely sure. _________________ |

| It's not a finisher. It was at half hp, I simply killed it with several regular hits while on the ground |

| I didn't know they had done this. I'll start trying some more melee combat. |

| They're not exactly combat finishers, and they're probably tied in with luck as you said, and probably strength/melee/unarmed. They're more devastating power attacks, and cool as hell to watch. |

| I think they work when you double press alt button. At least that's how it works for me. Suplexes, throws, grabs. Tons of fun stuff. Definitely not a finisher, so you can use them any moment. |

| The melee and hand to hand combat in this Fallout is great. I love the gun to the face melee attack, the back stab spin is pretty awesome too. I love that the AI will do these sick attacks to each other too! My follower and I were in a tight corridor, breaching doors and the like, when i tell my follower to breach a door and he gets picked up by a Raider and slammed on the ground! 10/10 would reload my save to watch that again! |

| @"Dio Brando" Any idea on how to do this on a controller? I use the xbox1 controller. I'll look into it, but thought I'd ask if you off the top of your head... |

| @jdirtyI have no clue, sorry. I'm using the keyboard. But by this logic you have to press the alternative attack button twice, while wearing a melee weapon in your hand. |

| @jdirty Alt the power attack/grenade throw button on keyboards. It's the same for consoles, double tap the power attack. |

| You should try it when you are wearing power armor, sometimes you grab the enemy with one hand on the air (think one of those words is wrong) and stab him. - Spoiler:

| Figured it out! It's not double tap on power attack. It happens when you block and then use power attack. It's a counter attack of sorts. |

Really? To me I just power attack when really close to them while they are less than 50% HP and it does a combat move that severely injures them, then when they're at less than 25% HP you can do a killmove that finishes them off. No doubletapping, I barely block at all, and the moves happen all the time |
