Hah, funny you mention that coincidence - I've had other people ask me if I lived in/was from Africa(90% of the time it was someone on Runescape from when I played that); I guess Manan is a common or recognizable name in some culture or another there. Someone gave me a Wikipedia article on it once, but it was a long time ago :\

I also name my Lone Wanderer Jack, I use the additem console command to give him samurai armor and blade

I name my male characters Michael because that's my name. (Creative I know) For my female characters I have the hardest damn time finding a name that fits. My latest character is literally named "a" in the game because I couldn't think of a name.

My character's name is Nero. Mostly because I use it for everything. Also because that's a name I earned from a group of old friends.

I know what that's like, I had a character in Oblivion back in my console Oblivion days whose name was just ???.

My character name is Selene, gender is female, origin of the name is the goddess of Greek mythology.

My characters name is The Lone Survivor, It reminds of The Lone Wanderer but sounds more adventurous, more action seeking

I called mine different . One time it was "Mark Sinestra" , once he was "Loner" other time it was " Whispering John" , but now I simply called him " Mark Knoppfler" Because I Clearlu LOVE Dire Straits

For male character i go with Gedor (most of my friends call me like that irl), or something like Zizzy, found that pretty funny.
On my current playthrough i named my female character Pistol Pattzy, my interpretation of a male name Pistol Pete, sounds pretty lame but what the hell, and yea she is pistol expert so thus the name

I'm playing as a western themed character named Carson McCarthy.

I also have a Vegas themed character named Jay Valentine.

I called my character Gabriel Winters for my ex NCR ranger turned bounty hunter character.

I named my character dr.Zedwin he was a scientist in the vault.
