For me this always depends on what kind of character I'm going to make.

For Legion Characters I usually go something very Roman sounding such as: Verinus Iltus Malus

For NCR playthoughs usually a more normal name: Vincent Laak

Melee Characters I try for something nordic sounding: Erik Helstrom


Everything is dependant on what kind of game you want to play, I try to avoid using the same name every time as it's more interesting to create a brand new character each time.

Albert Cole because he was the Vault-Dweller and
Jake Belmont which is my name on the internet.

snake because i had the sneaking suit from metal gear solid.

1.Scar.(mercenary from stalker clear sky. I use it for neutral characters)
2.№9.(remember PSone game called Parasite Eve 2? I use it for evil characters)

Since I'm using a female character this time around. I decided to name her Gaige. (I had alot of fun using Gaige in BL2 so..)

Well, for most TES games I have some kind of name going on for each character, depending on the lore I want for them. All the names trace back to mi main character back when I played Guild Wars: Frenhrir Fjalar. I really didn't give much thought to the name back then but in time I made up a whole story for it haha.

From that legacy I created 3 names:

Orthen (Mother branch): Diplomats, thiefs, spies, and archers.

Fjalar (Father branch): Mostly for old school warrior type of characters.

Rorthgarian (2nd generation name that broke ties with the origin name): Magicians.

Pretty fun cause I pretend each toon is like a quantic variation in time/space, that's why they're all dragonborn and shit.


For FO I go with whatever name I feel goes with the character. I mostly use Mikhail / Renko , the new character's name is: Connor Sullivan.

Back in the day I used to research ancient mythology and shit to name my toons, now I basically use those three names or I yolo it.

For some reason I always name my characters after either Japanese anime characters or random shit.

For some reason, I always named my female characters Poet, no idea why.
My male characters were called Daniel, Johnson or Devvo.

I always name my character "Wolf" and that's because I love wolves, and the fact that I travel with many followers almost like a Wolf Pack.

John Matrix, from the title character in the 1985 classic Commando. I always name my character's John Matrix in Fallout games, it's kind of like a tradition since Fallout 1. It also makes sense since my character usually shoot everything that moves with a machine gun.

For me making up a good name for a character is probably among the top 5 hardest things in every single game.

I usually try several times to make up a serious and iconic character name, but it's just impossible.

After a while I give up and resort to obscenity and sexual references and name my character something like Doctor Dongbury, Admiral Assin Specter, Vlad The Vaseline Vampire, Richard Constantinus Hardy, Peter Pecker, Quintus "Fastest in the West" Morningwood... the horrifying list goes on and it doesn't get better at any point. I'm so sorry you had to endure reading this

My character names (usually male) tend to have a metal of some kind in them.
My go to name is Jacob Steele, followed by Rhogar Goldtouched, Revlis (silver backwards), then Ironfist.

I usually name my Duder characters after my alter-ego, Razor McGowan. I have named my Daughters of Ares characters 4DR35-T14 and N3M3-515. According to Mythology...Adrestia and Nemesis were the Daughters of Ares. They were thought to be aspects/spirits of Fate and Retribution. I just used the 1337-ified versions of their names.

Either a really corny 80's action hero name like Chuck Steel, or I just to Behind the Name and use one that jumps out at me. Sometimes, I model my character after characters from other games or movies/TV. There's something about killing Ghouls as "Jill Valentine" that just feels right.

Ah, yes the very important decision to name your character. In Fallout New Vegas, I decided to role play as a young naive character who would soon learn that the world wasn't as black and white as he thought. He started out in the NCR army but soon left after he was left for dead by them. I had the whole story thought out before I played so I finally came up with the name Aiden Gonzalez. It was a neutral common name for a naive character.

I named my character Kailyn because I thought it was a nice name to give a female character.

First Sykopaff. Then Sykofant. Then Rick Grimes. The most recent was Batimus Prime after my avatar here. I also go by Courier in-game sometimes, or syxxx.

I named one of my male characters, Billy Cash ,he is a cowboy type character. So I fused Billy the Kid and Johnny Cash. Another character, this one is female, and I named her Indigo Rose. She got that nickname from having beautiful indigo colored eyes. I'm currently writing an origin story for them both, hope to share with you all soon.
