| I usually pump the most points into agility and lower luck the most as I don't rely on critical hits.
On the whole, it just depends on your personal play-style, there really isn't a right or wrong way to play the game.
With Fallout 3 on the other hand, I tend to put more points into luck, there are a few weapons that can be very powerful with good critical chance. |

| Usuall 9 points in strength, Endurance, and Intelligence then what ever else as even as I can get.
Strength is good for carring items and the increase in carry weight is usfull Endurance is used for when you get to the implants so that you can get all of them and Intelligence is used for extra skill pointsas you gain more skill points per your Intelligence. |

| For Fallout 3 I started putting 4 points (9 total) into intelligence. Then I run like a bandit to Rivet City for the bobble-head to get the intelligence to 10.
Why? So that I can get the greatest points going forward each time I level. In the end my character is very powerful. Add a few more to raise the points each level and then use a couple of perks to get just enough to obtain whatever perks for that play through. It is unconventional but if you are looking for challenging this is the way. I usually look at it this way. My father was a very capable scientist 200 years after the total destruction of society. Was he smart.. yep better believe it so am I.
FNV is more complex. I look at the perks required for the play thorough I will be doing then get the minimum for those perks. _________________ |

| It may not be balanced at all, but I always start my game with maxed out Intelligence, then take all of my luck and put it into Strength. Works for almost all of my playthroughs. _________________ - Can you figure it out?:

| Hello TheHulksCousin, I move the points from luck into other categories for FNV however not all into strength. How do you get some of the perks that require 6, 7 or even 8 doing your game that way? or do you just avoid those perks and such on your play thorough. _________________ |

Most of the time, I'll admit, I find myself looking at my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points and think, "You screwed up, man!" But I usually take the Intense Training perk almost all 10 times to balance it out. I guess it's a waste of perks, but I only take the perks that offer cool effects like Lady Killer and Ferocious Loyalty. |

| Not a waste. I did the same as needed during the development (play) of the character. I thought of it as learning and growing. I didn't think of it as a waste. I would use what was needed to add the requirements to get the perks I needed etc. It worked out. There are many times one levels up in the middle of the game when they look at the perks and go. I really don't need any of these. Sure you might be able to use them but not really need them.. I don't like the fact that you are forced to take the perk at that time. I like the Skyrim way where you can save it for later. _________________ |

I completely agree. Maybe Fallout 4 should have the same leveling up system as skyrim? I think it should. But, oh well, guess we're gonna have to hope for it. |

| It took a while for me to get use to the levels system but I gotta say that is one aspect that I really do like in Skyrim. I usually don't use any perks until about the 8th or higher level. Then I "bomb" the area that I need to once I am sure of the direction I want to go in the game. It is nice to be able to wait. _________________ |

| Generally, I use Charisma as my dump stat, and pump Intelligence, endurance, and agility, in that order.
Luck, Strength, and Perception I generally leave untouched, unless I'm doing a melee playthrough. |

| My build is normally a 4 Charisma, 6 Intelligence, 10 Luck. I start off with Skilled and Built to Destroy. By the end I pretty much mastered all Skills and rich and kicking ass. |

| Wow, I've been playing the game all wrong. I guess I'll be getting rid of luck considering I don't ever use VATS kill mode. _________________ |

| Intelligence at 10, and then you can improvise besides this, I always set charisma at 1 and give 1 additional points to strength, perception, endurance and agility. But, you can set luck at 9 plus implant and go ravage all the casinos on the Strip |
