Hey there,

So I'm new to modding and I've installed quite a few mods thus far, I'm aware that new vegas can't hold a lot of plugins however the game seems to be running fine, a few stutters here and there but nothing dramatic.

This was when I was rescuing the deputy from the convicts and wanted to go back outside to the open world. However, the game black screens and then crashes whenever I try to exit the building. I am using Vortex as my mod manager and below are all the mods that are installed and enabled:

I've skipped some mods out as they just include "DLC" at the end of the mod and some compatibility mods too.

If anyone could help tell me what mod(s) are causing the black screen/crashing, it would be very grateful. Maybe I'll learn a lesson too lol.

Just as a sanity check, are you running the latest JIP LN NVSE Plugin and xNVSE? Just to start off, you could try reloading a few saves before you entered the building to see if it's still giving you the same issue. I've used some of those mods before but I can't tell you for sure what's giving you the issue because I don't use most of those anymore. One thing I do to find what plugin is giving me issues is by disabling half of the plugins and then loading the game and see if it works or crashes. If it crashes, select the remaining half of the enabled plugins and deactivate them. Repeat this till it no longer crashes. then Enable a small number of till it crashes again and you should be able to find the plugin that is causing the crash. (If that seems way too complicated Just select 10 Plugins at a time and disable them until the crashing goes away and reenable one at a time till you crash again, then you have found the source of the issue). I hope this helps

Have you tried cleaning your mods with FNVEDIT? If not here is a tutorial link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpRinGULJGw (Some examples may be from Skyrim but the same thing applies) But when I cleaned my mods that fixed the same problem that you were having with my modlist.

In my opinion, Vortex is very unstable as it is not recommended for heavy mod lists for FNV. You are better off using a better mod manager such as Nexus Mod Manager as it does not have a big learning curve and is a newcomer-friendly mod manager. Mod Organizer 2 has a big learning curve but it is considered the best mod manager.
