It's your friend dragbody here. We are currently just over two weeks away from 2018! That means it is time for the second annual New Vegas New Year

The rules are simple.

1. Create a new character and start a new playthrough on or shortly after Jan 1st, 2018.
   
2. Play and share your screenshots and/or short stories during the month.
   
3. (Optional) Conclude your game by the end of the month.
   
4. (Optional) Share a character profile on this thread
   

If you intend to join, please announce your intention here and I will keep a running list going of participating members.

Courier Profile:

As a bonus, I am working on a mod that will be my last mod of 2017. My goal is to complete it in time to share it privately with anyone doing this community playthrough and then eventually share it publicly with the rest of the GUN community. It will be a five character NPC overhaul for Doc Mitchell, Veronica, Arcade, the King, and the fifth is tbd. I hope to have it completed in time for use in this January playthrough, but it is the holidays and if real-life gets in the way, then I will simply pass it along ASAP.

In case you are wondering, this New Vegas playthrough welcomes TTW players as well. For that matter, any special stipulation about your playthrough that you fear may disqualify you from participating, don't worry about it! Creativity is encouraged! Try a new style of play. Try an alternative start. Make different choices than you usually do. Have fun and experiment! As long as you start a brand new game on or shortly after Jan 1st, you are in

I will play this game for the fifth time, hahaha

I am excited! I have been testing out the beginning stats for my character and used character sheets to get a layout of his progression. This community playthrough is gonna be awesome!

Can't wait for this to start. As of right now I am stuck in that mod but no play state. So I am hoping this will change that. Would really love to get one more armor set for my character. Then my game would be set for the most part.

Count me in. Though I might start my playthrough Jan 5th at the latest, since I'm pretty busy on the first week and away from home.

I would love to. Problem is I have chronic "restart your character due to not being satisfied" syndrome.

Mods I have will work wonders with this, and I've been needing to start a new game for a while.

I am just finishing my load order for TTW so I'm in!
Btw RoyBatty told me "there is no alt start for TTW that works" and those in the Nexus "will break your game". So ill start in the Capital Wasteland and the move with the same character to New Vegas.

I'm in, trying to commit to an Anti-NCR playthrough.

I'm in! I've been trying to force myself to stop modding New Vegas and actually play the gosh-darn game, so this seems like as good a time as any.

I'm going to use a very stripped down Load Order for this playthrough - most likely a few HQ texture replacers, YUP, JSawyers Ultimate, and Drag's overhauls - keep it short and sweet. Think I might go for a Legion playthrough this time. It's a good opportunity to try out SuBNeRoCL's Novac Legion Quest actually.

I will have a speed play, however, and probably stop by the end of February... March latest. I find that if I play too often I never mod and I have lots of projects ongoing at the moment.

@Dragbody, do you have a *.psd version of the Courier Template?

Damn if only I had the time. Have fun everyone, and kill some Legion for me.

oh thanks for mentioning this modification I was looking for it a while ago

Glad to see we're doing this again, hopefully I can actually participate this time. Last time I said I would and then never actually got around to playing through Fallout New Vegas because of school, and the want to play other games. But hopefully I'll actually be able to do it this time. Don't know when exactly, but count me in! I'll just need to find time while still keeping up with school, and some music stuff that I'm doing.

I guess I will start with my profile. Since I had time and will to do a intro video as well, why the hell not? This time I'm going for completely different, basically this is a kill 'em all playthrough.

Not sure if Fallout:New California will be out by then but will that be allowed in the new playthrough if it comes out before then?

Haven't done an NCR playthrough since 2015 probably. This seems like the perfect opportunity to do so. Count me in.
