| Play them in order. They have connecting stories. They are essentially made to be to be that way. You will lose out on a lot of narrative if you don't. _________________ swiggitty swooty I'm coming for that booty -George Washington |

| Honest Hearts is unconnected aside from a small mention towards the character of another DLC, but it's literally a one liner. If you really care that much, then it should be played after Old World Blues, or maybe even Lonesome Road, as then you'll most likely catch it and have an "oh hey" moment. If you play it first like some suggest, then you probably won't ever make note of it. IMO, the best order to play would be Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and then, finally, Lonesome Road. Old World Blues and Dead Money are interchangable, as the story you get in Old World Blues acts somewhat as a prequel to what happened in the other ones. In that way, you can play them in either order, as it'll either give you a backstory before going into Dead Money, or it can act as clarification after just getting out. Lonesome Road should definitely be played last. |

| I recommend playing the following DLCs last in this order Dead Money > Lonesome Road. The stories of Honest Hearts and Old World Blues are unconnected but has some lore that explains stuff on the 2 DLCs I mentioned before. _________________ Will there be enough Dakka?

| Pretty much everyone else has said it so I will as well, but the best order in the order in which they were released. Each one has it's own little interconnecting story that relates to the next one. |

| While i agree playing them in their release order, personally i prefer to play them in difficulty order which imo would be (from easier to harder) Honest Hearts>Old World Blues>Dead Money>Lonesome Road.
And i would recommend to play HH with 12+ level. _________________ - Kek:

| I always played them from worst to best (FO3 as well), which means I always play Honest Hearts first and either Lonesome Road or Old World Blues last. _________________ Walking down an unknown road |

| I'd usually goes with honest hearts old world blues dead money lonesome road. - about the DLCs connections to the story and each other:
Honest Hearts doesnt really have much connection to the others, maybe some mentions here and there.
Old Worlds Blues if you explore everywhere it does set up ALOT background and understanding the story better for both dead money and lonesome road.
which leads to the last two DLCs, I'll play dead money before lonesome road cause LR does seem to be the final bit of new vegas (besides the hover dam battle)

| In the order of release of the dlcs;
Dead Money Honest Hearts Old World Blues and Lonesome Road
I figured the mood of the dlcs goes something like this. Dead Money, heavy tone, scary, sad, it's serious.. But when you get to Zion Valley it's gonna be chill nature walk hours with bandage man Joshua. After a stroll in the national park, you'll be placed into the ice breaker dlc Old World Blues and finding out the answers to some questions you may have got from playing the game along with Dead Money and Honest Hearts. After all of that jive, you get to Lonesome Road...Obsidians way of reminding you "Hey, we gotta wrap up your adventure now partner. You ready?"
Once all the dlcs are done, now is the best time to finally do the Battle of Hoover Dam with your chosen faction. |

| Traditionally It's the order they were released, but I play them in order of:
Lonesome Road Honest Hearts Old World Blues Dead Money
I like Elijah to be the last antagonist I face, and also Dead Money is my favorite DLC, Lonesome Road my least _________________ - My YouTube - |

| Here's what I always do.
Honest Hearts first, this one doesn't matter, its almost totally disconnected from the others and the main game, can play it at any time and any level and it'll make sense, its also pretty short.
Old World Blues and Dead Money can be played in any order really, Old World Blues provides some back story and context for things you see in Dead Money but since anything you learn in the Big MT can't be utilized anywhere else its not that helpful. I like to play Dead Money first as Old World Blues is my favourite dlc and I like to save it, plus it contribute a lot towards making you overpowered so the later you play it the better.
Lonesome Road is always last, in cannon it definitely takes place after the events of Dead Money and just before the end of the game, the other dlcs all foretell its events. It tells you to bring your best gear and the story only really works and has weight if you've already picked a side in the main game conflict. There's other reasons for it to be done last as well but they contain spoilers so I won't mention them.
That's just how I think about it anyway, great thing about these games is you can do stuff in any order, Lonesome Road at level 1 right out of Goodsprings for example. haha |

| If you wait a day technically you could say playing New California first before even starting New vegas would be the way to go _________________ |

| Like other's have said it's definitely better to do things in order of release because the later DLCs have references and callbacks to the previous one's and there are answers to questions raised in earlier one's to kind of tie everything together. The only one you could really do out of order no problem is Honest Hearts due to the very disconnected nature of it which I personally thing is one of it's greatest strengths and weaknesses. |

| I think the ongoing storyline and progression of difficulty goes:
Honest Hearts Old World Blues Dead Money Lonesome Road
Though I think that plot-wise, it's only ideal to play Lonesome Road last, because all the other DLC's make reference to it. The others are just about the difficulty curve, so I'm not sure about the order of Dead Money and Old World Blues. |
