Hey VGU! I've been in the middle of watching Breaking Bad, which inspired me to create and roleplay as a drug dealer in Vegas! My character makes the best chems, making a profit off them and eliminating other dealers (competition), eventually having the entire Mojave as my territory and my character swimming in caps!

My Heisenberg-like character:

I was wondering if any of you ever roleplayed as a specific type of character?

Yea! Right now i'm role playing as a NCR high ranking soldier who started as a regular trooper,then he became first recon, and afterwards he became colonel.(He's also a recovering amphetamine user,from back when he was a soldier)

I'm roleplaying as a bounty hunter or hired gun for anyone who has the caps. I don't really care about morality, money is my morality.

An old sniper who retired from being a sniper to be a courier. But when he is shot by Benny, he's forced back to his old habits in order to seek revenge on him. His tag skills are guns (obviously), repair (he often went on week long missions and was forced to care for his own guns), and sneak (snipers have to be stealthy). He has a high perception in order to see far away, and he's very old so his strength and endurance aren't too high (4 for each). He is slightly more intelligent than the average man in the wastes (6 intelligence), but his charisma is low since he never had much interaction with people aside from killing them. He aligns with the views of the NCR since he thinks a democratic organization can best control the wastes, although he agrees the NCR can be corrupt at times and doesn't always agree with them. He prefers light to medium armor since he moves around quite frequently, and he has a revolver as a sidearm. I have Boone as the companion since they naturally are both snipers, with Rex as a loyal companion as well.

I'm playing as mercenary who wants to live the high society life in the strip. But to achieve that he will do anything he can. He only answers for the guy who pays more and he does not care about anything but the money.

I just like shooting people and monsters in the face, I dont really want a back story to justify it.

I role play tale of two wastelands as a good karma entrepreneur that started to set up Marijuana shops in the CW then went out west after the enclave was wiped out, opened more shops and ultimately ended up running the lucky 38, steve bison , and various other stuff. he rarely leave his business suit, only uses engraved stylish one handed pistols/revolvers and travels by car or vertibird with 2 bodyguards. he's got LOTS of cars, and about 30 000 000 caps (no cheating, just a pure barter build and investment mods) he smokes a sh** load of cigarettes; and totally sucks in combat
Next one will be some sort of chaotic survival bounty hunter I think.

^ Absolutely this ^ It's kind of fun to just to let the story in the game happen without applying any back story to the protagonist. Heck...I play the Jill Valentine or Soap race in my games. There is no logical backstory to explain how or why they exist in Fallout. They are there because it's cool to have them.

It's a totally different story with Skyrim and the other TES games. I could write a novel

My current character is a well trained assassin belongs to a secret society - a very ancient assassin guild located in the outside of San Francisco underground. One day she got order from the elder of the guild to delivery a package. But when she entered Mojave desert, she was knocked out by the members of her guild.

Everything of this order was a trap from the start. Benny made an offer to support and expand the guild with the elder. Blinded by the illusion of power, the elder accepted the offer but ended up dead with most of the members, ambushed by Benny's hired guns. And the members who knocked her out were also killed by Benny's mercs.

After the failed execution at Goodsprings cemetery and patched up by Doc Mitchell, due to brainial damage by the gunshot, she could only remember her name, her last order and Benny's execution. However, her skills and knowledge as an assassin were already became her instincts long ago. Even without memories, she was still proven as a deadly assassin by silently taking out Powder Gangers raiding party attempting to attack Goodsprings.

Afterward, she also cleared up all of Powder Gangers' camps and NCR Correctional Facility on her own and without anyone's attentions. After Powder Gangers near Goodsprings are all taken care of, the path of vengeance begins.

I'm just doing the standard TTW playthrough, so Lone Wanderer inexplicably turned Courier. It would be cool if they added a transition quest where you pick up work as a courier, which would take you into the FNV story, but still. Like some others have said, I'm not too huge on things like backstory or lore or logic. I look like I jumped out of Army of Two, I've got a Combine stun baton, wicked super powers (which I usually use to circumvent combat; I'm a stealthy mofo), and a f**king hoverboard (not so stealthy).

I roleplay as his own president, and apparently hold his highest rank in military power, making him military governor/head of government. He is no simple politician, he was born with the traits of a warrior, and capable of being a super badass at best. Considering his race can outlive human years due to almost ageless immortality, he lived the longest amongst them. He ordered his troops to bring about the balance of justice in order to ever achieve peace in a lawless wasteland, to rebuild lost civilizations, to colonize his empire across worlds beyond Earth, but his main mission is to defend the balance between good and evil. They were after all,,, the guardians of the universe.

Living from the ages, and beyond the events of where the elder scrolls universe took place, these multidimensional beings exist where ever they're needed. Yet many were told the last of the dovakhiin existed in the events of Skyrim, but he was not the last. There were many, including the fathers of dragons, yet my character is one of them. While it may be true he has held a grudge against the humans at one point, but thanks to a certain apathy, he found reason once again by his mutual allies on Earth who rose against corruption in politics and would wish to bring about change, not in the name of anarchy, but in the name of liberty. He was angry with the majority of misinformed people in large numbers, which enabled his vast armies to retaliate against a high pinpoint of unjust and unbalance.

The times were tough, when he learned of the selfish deceits of humanity as to what revealed his darkness and terror amongst the masses, and the very reason he is violent towards most of them. He would certainly kill if he is provoked doing so. Fearful as it may sound, but least he has some more lenient mercy towards defending the youth of the human race, and those who would strive to keep their civilizations free of control from their corporate and government puppet-masters. He believes in no religion other than his own lore of Gods, as what religion is to him, is just some man-written pages in a book. He considers zealots to be misguided and he deals with them rather harshly, but he wishes not to enforce religion upon people. No, he wishes to put a stranglehold on religion to prevent them from forcing their beliefs upon people, though promotion is acceptable.

He strives in a campaign to establish an absolute, free, democracy amongst the people, as the power on Earth belongs only to it's people. For the people, of the people, and by the people. 'His' race however, some were born on Earth, like him. But many of these ancient guardians exist in another world where no-one except the SK Gov leadership will ever know. No human on Earth, or in space age have ever discovered this world, and nobody ever shall. He plays neither the role of the courier or the lone wanderer. He has his own role, as emperor amongst his nation. Should he ever meet the courier in New Vegas, may he serve as a guide and let the courier transcend amongst the stars along with dragonkind of all races, and of course the SK Gov could avenge the courier by sending hitmen after that disgusting putrid rat Benny, or should the courier ignore his/her own opportunity of light, refusing to get involved in my affairs and let humanity die on this rock...

I have 2 characters.
1st is my Daughter of Ares, Pandora,she wears the Phazon Suit from Metroid or Sisters of Battle from Warhammer 40K. I roleplay her as a Worldjumper (why she has so many armors from places no one in game has ever seen before).
2nd is my Male Child, Chaos. He uses Power Armor (XV,Brink,Space Marine,Chaos Marine..etc).
He's not played as a child (I'm short...lol). I play him as a genetically engineered Super Soldier (thus the affinity for power armor) I have several armors not yet installed for them both that I will work into their stories in my head....and perhaps write,should I ever get enough ideas together at once.

I started a playthrough using the ST Robot Race and was RPing as a robot. Its cool having to heal yourself with repair kits and metal, while stimpacks and other chems have no effect on you. He's currently a mercenary willing to do any job regardless of moral consequence.

Most of the time I am a standard lone wander.  However, I have played a couple of times as a "terminator" type from Cybernetic Dawn.  Definitely changed the way that I played the early game.  My Lone Wander is usually trying to do good and does act with morality most of the time.  However, my characters have little patience for those who pretend authority without the power to back it up. Smart remarks from in NPCs usually get them killed.  I also have a nasty habit of gravitating towards the slaver persona.  My character usually works for the regulators in mods that allow it, but has been know to kill a few regulators that questioned the status of slave followers. Unfortunately, my character's morality is usually dictated by the situation.  Not usually to have both the regulators and talon company after me. Being good is really hard.  Just my Opinion!!!!  Cheers!!!  V/R  MistTiger

Mine: A former PMC Operative who is drowning his sorrows with good ol' vodka, after searching for a legitimate job to earn some caps as a courier, he has turned to Taking lives to keep himself alive.

Ulysses's long lost younger brother he knows it after the ending of lonesome road but does not tell him After the twisted hairs fell to legion he escaped out of the dry wells. He becomes a courier and shot in the head and forgets everything besides his hatred for the legion. He has Talley marks on his chest for how many legion slavers he kills. Like Ulysses he takes his name from history Nat Turner

There are a lot of Head canon i utilize when I play. FO3 it's kind of hard to make something of my own when the back story of the lone wanderer was already set in stone.

In FNV though, it's nice to set up some back-story. In my current play through, the Courier(Azalea) is a sister to Sarah, and a daughter to Owyn Lyons. Before the events of FO3, she left for unknown reasons and ventured the wastes in order to find her own path. In her travels she managed to gather advanced tech, weapon schematics, and Macguyver'ed her way to the West Coast. Azalea took many jobs, bodyguard, mechanic, inventor, and mercenary. Those jobs despite the experience it gave her didn't prepare her for the life of a courier. All the training couldn't protect her from getting overwhelmed and getting a bullet to the head. After waking up, Azalea uses all her knowledge in order to get revenge on those who wronged her.
