I'm making 3d assets for a long term-developement mod / mod series... but i don't know which game is more convenient engine wise, player base wise and overall.

It will feature exploring a new land (or big city), location and stry ath depends on the game i choose.

What do you guys think?

If you are doing some quest/exploring like mods i'll better recommend you to make it on FO4. But if you want to make mod with a lot of scripts, then you'll better wait until FO4SE become better.

it will be more war centered (so the first releases don't rely much on scriptes but as i learn the GECK or the FO4CK i am planning to make more of those) , i however find the landscape editing onFO 4 as something really cool to work on.


I also noticed how some mechanics are already present onFO4 (Vertibird battle and other "action" oriented sequences that i could makeuse of.))


plus i also noticed how on FO4 i don't need lighting mods to make everything look just about perfect...while on FONVwouldn't be the case

For a large project, definitely Fallout 4. It just has better gameplay mechanics, animations, smoother gameplay and is more popular right now than New Vegas pretty much ever was.

If you mean convenient for ME then New Vegas lol

But in reality, for a large scale quest mod which you intend to put a lot of effort into, well, for maximum exposure and creative possibility, it has to be fallout 4. There are simply more options for that game than there are for New Vegas. Best of luck anyway man!

New Vegas was easy when I did it. I’ve heard FO4 is real annoying to mod for

Skyrim is the most customizable and expansive.

My mod is in the Fallout universe, hence Skyrim is out of the question for now
