So I recently started playing fallout 2 and have made it all the way to Vault City. Why does this matter? Because it's left me wanting to play FNV again but with some mods that add some fallout 2 flair to the Mojave. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Lastly if anyone knows where I could find a higher res or more detailed version for the standard leather armor I would be most faithful!

I too sought to put a little bit of the Original Fallout games into Fallout NV a while back. I've played very very little of the old games (perhaps a few hours or so) and I wanted to experience something similar in FNV because I liked the style the old games had.

Anyway, here's what I used:

Revelation - Makes the menus look like Fallout: Tactics.
Classic Fallout Weapons - A little bit old and somewhat lowres, but a lot of the weapons from the originals fit so well in NV.
Pipboy 2500 - Replaces the wristmounted Pipboy 3000 with the handheld Pipboy 2500. If you don't like handhelds, the author has also uploaded a wristmounted edition of the 2500.
Fallout 1 and 2 Classic Ambient Music - Self explanatory, it replaces Inon Zur's music with Mark Morgan's music.
Classic Fallout description messages - Brings back the description messages. I'm not sure if this works in all areas, as the description listed it as a beta and it was last updated in 2011.
XRE Cars - Now your Courier can ride in a Chrysalis Highwayman.

Like Corvo mentioned, Revelation is a great mod for your needs. I'd also suggest Tales from the Burning Sands, it's a hardcore classic RPG esque quest mod and it's fantastic. Skynet Companion, More Perks, Classic Adobe Buildings in Mojave are some of the mods I can think of right now.

I'd highly recommend getting the Higher Resolution Armored Vault 13 Jumpsuit if you got all the DLC for the game since it ups the quality of the vanilla textures. The Classical Font Mod is also another mod I'd highly recommend you get for immersion.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/15154/? The second half of the revelations hud is also quite good, makes the hud look sorta like a pipboy and the such, or more so bulky and machine like. I know it says fallout 3, but it also works with new vegas, heck any f3 hud mods work with nv really.
