| I have installed CaliberX along with Book of Earache and I am having an awesome time with it! Only problem is that my favorite firearm uses 6.5 Grendel but there is no way for me to buy or craft the ammo. Is this happening for anyone else? (I'm only level 17 in my new playthrough) Any suggestions is appreciated! -Irish _________________ - My Achievements:

| Hey man if i remember correctly, to activate new ammo for caliberX, you must open the geck and load caliberx. Afterwards go to the quest section, find the quest that says CaliberActivate65grenedal, open it, then check the box start game enabled, click ok, then save and start the game up _________________ 'It's not the size of a dog in a fight,it's the size of the fight in the dog' -Mark Twain

| Hey man. By default CaliberX doesn't add any new ammo, that's for other mods to active instead the CaliberX ESM, there's a detailed tutorial on how to do that in the mods comments section. This is the tutorial by WhiskeyRiver2 on the nexus, pasted here: - Spoiler:
#1: Add Caliber.esm as a master to your mod. This is done by checking off -only- Caliber.esm and whatever the mod you're tweaking is called, and setting the mod file as the "Active" file. In the example I used, the mod is SpamPTRS' Springfield M1903A4, so that's what I set as my active file.
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi62.tinypic.com/2hp7xco.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi62.tinypic.com/2hp7xco.jpg</a> (you can't tell because my load order is stupid-long, but the only other file I have checked off is Caliber.esm - files that are required by the ticked/active mod(s) are loaded automatically)
#2: Add a quest named CaliberStartup{YourModName}Quest. Be sure to give your quest a unique EditorID as well - you'll need that for the scripting to come. Personally, I just make the quest name and EditorID the same.
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi61.tinypic.com/25yu2yg.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi61.tinypic.com/25yu2yg.jpg</a>
So if your mod is called BigGameRifles, name your quest: "CaliberStartupBigGameRiflesQuest".
#3: Set this quest to start when the game starts, check to use the default script processing delay, and set a priority of 60 (or higher). When done, "OK" out of the quest - leave the script blank for now..
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi58.tinypic.com/eulkq8.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi58.tinypic.com/eulkq8.jpg</a>
#4: Create a new script.
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi58.tinypic.com/zstwfr.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi58.tinypic.com/zstwfr.jpg</a>
In order for the script to fire properly, it should look like this:
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi61.tinypic.com/300uxq0.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi61.tinypic.com/300uxq0.jpg</a>
Change the drop down at the top of the script editor to "Quest", and save the script.
#6: Reopen the quest you created earlier . Select your script from the script dropdown. Make sure "Start game Enabled" is still checked, along with the box for "default script processing delay", then "OK" out of the quest window.
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://2img.net/h/oi62.tinypic.com/jif1vt.jpg'>https://2img.net/h/oi62.tinypic.com/jif1vt.jpg</a> (you can't tell because the drop-down is block it, but I have ticked the box for default script processing delay)
#7: Hit save.
#8: Set your weapon(s) to use the appropriate ammo list(s), shell casings, and projectile resources.
Let me know if you need any help and i'll talk you through it. Take care and have fun. Edit: i also moved this thread to the troubleshooting section, tutorials are the only thing that should be posted in the tutorials section, i know the "help" part of the name is confusing. haha |

| So, say for example the All-American in Book of Earache shoots a 6.5 Grendel but there is no reloading bench recipe for crafting the ammo and if i can not buy the ammo anywhere, I just do whats stated above? Thanks for the replies guys! _________________ - My Achievements:

| Hmm i'm not familiar with how the Book of Earache does things but its possible it didn't activate the distribution quest for the Grendel ammo. I made this for you, put it in the data folder, start the game up and see if you get a message in the top left corner, it will let you find and craft 6.5 Grendel ammo. http://www.mediafire.com/download/zbfawwz3v23nla0/Irishmarksman%27s+6.5+Grendel+Activator.esp#39;s_6.5_Grendel_Activator.esp Let me know how it goes and i hope this helps. Edit: also don't for get to check the ESP in your load order and make sure you are using the latest version of CaliberX. |

| I'm glad it worked for you. Its very simple, its just a short script and a quest to run that script once. The instructions in my first post pretty much tell you what to do but here's another brief example. First make a new quest in the GECK, call it whatever you like but I'd go with something like AmmoActivateQuest Tick the start game enabled box, this is very important and i forgot it when i first wrote this. XD Tick the default script processing delay box and set the priority to 60 or something like that, then click ok. Next up is the script, make a new one. Here's a template script you can use. - Spoiler:
scn AmmoActivateQuestScript ;The name of your script, it can be anything really but I'd go with that.
begin gamemode
;this is the ammo you are activating, every ammo in Caliber has a quest that controls its distribution, by starting that quest you ;are adding the ammo to the wasteland, 6.5 Grendal and 7.62x39mm has ;been used here as an example, you can find the names ;of the Caliber quests by looking in the GECK
startquest CaliberActivateQuest65Grendal startquest CaliberActivateQuest762x39 stopquest AmmoActivateQuest ;Stops the quest that's running this scripts as its not needed now
end ;The end
Exit the script and hit save. So after you've done that, go to the quest and select the script you just made from the drop down menu named script. Save the mod and you're done. I hope that was clear enough but I'm not very good at explaining things so if you need any help just let me know. Take care and have fun. |

| Okay thanks for that! Whenever I followed the steps as mentioned above for the other calibers it makes my game crash upon loading my game. Ill just stick with the 6.5 grendel for now, hopefully i can figure out why its crashing. Thanks again hitman! _________________ - My Achievements:
