| So I guess again the substance of my thread has already been hinted to by the title aha. But essentially, would you recommend TTW for a player like me, who is very big on immersion? How "natural" does the gameplay and the link between DC and the Mojave feel?
To give some context I'm currently on my second playthrough of Fallout 3, and I'm considering abandoning it due to me finding the gameplay too easy, coupled with the repetitive nature of the more linear story. Not saying 3 isn't a good game, I'm just finding it difficult to sustain another playthrough. |

| It's fine if you do Fallout 3 then New Vegas as recommended. If not your Courior becomes a baby once again. |

| I would highly recommend it. After installing TTW Fallout 3 has become pretty much obsolete. As far as I can tell once you have TTW there's really no reason to go back to Fallout 3, especially since many mods for Fallout 3 have been ported to TTW or New Vegas itself. |

| Absolutely.
I recently returned home and lacking my PC with FNV on I've been playing Fallout 3 on my old desktop. It's so different than NV, if only because of it's lack of convenient gameplay mods. If you intend on playing Fallout 3, then just play TTW instead. It will improve your play value vastly. Those extra mods that Fallout 3 lacks, such as PN or Lazarus Project will vastly improve your experience, trust me. _________________ Muwahahahahahahaha!!!What do you mean evil laugh!? | Yes! TTW is awesome, and the ability to play with the same character in both games and having both games perks is great! I love TTW
What I usually do to keep emersion is start out in FO3 with the whole find my father quest, level up ect. This way in my mind your character is becoming a seasoned veteran wasteland survivor and fighting the Enclave you become a trained soldier which after I finish FO3 is why the curior is such a bad ass. So now with FO3 done I imagine my character who usually I consider a Mercenarie also gets a side job as a curior. Which explains the in between time with the whole lonesome road incident and how he is running the Platnum chip job for Mr. House. Then kicks off the New Vegas story and how my character being a Merc Veteran is already leveled up with Perks.
So hope this explanation helps. _________________ |

| i would also recomend TTW. i run with several interesting TTW related mods as well. TTW Fallout Plot Convergence this one locks the door to the vault where the VR pod is and makes the chip the only way to get in. The Lone Courier - Fallout: Unity Dialog Enhancements makes so you will reference FO3 things in NV or if you started in NV fererence them in F3. FalloutTTW QuestOverhaul 1.14 steal and hides your weapons when you first go to NV and puts a major debuff on you for awhile (you did just get shot in the head after all. _________________ chown -R US ./Base

| Yes if you like long stories and playthroughs. No if you like to create new characters instead of replaying the same one.
TTW is amazing, but personally I like to keep it off my load order most of the time because The LW being the Courier is quite a boring concept and doesn't make a lot of sense within the lore. I know it changes it to a 6 years period of time instead of 4, but I just don't like to go against written Fallout canon a lot of the time. Also, the Western BoS doesn't know the player character even though the pc single handedly destroyed the Enclave with their Eastern Counterpart. Benny shoots a BoS Knight without any hesitation or challenge, and you never get treated like you are the Lone Wanderer.
Don't get me wrong though, TTW is amazing for playthroughs. Because it's two games in one I find myself playing one playthrough for months. It's great and turns FO3 and FNV into the longest game I've played, ever. It's ideal for reaching extremely high levels as there is no lack of content. |

| Definitely. There really isn't a downside in it. You get two whole games in one. If you get bored of the Mojave like I often do, just go to DC. I for one enjoyed the DC DLC more than the Mojave DLCs so I thoroughly enjoyed being able to go back there with my shiny new guns. |

| Like all the other good folks up above, I too highly recommend it. HOWEVER You might want to wait for its big update. I'm also waiting for it before I do a TTW playthough. I mean who doesn't want a stable FO3 with ironsights, hitman's animations, mojave terror, and lazarus project? |

| o.o Sounds like I'll have to check it out. What's the levelling like, if I finished the main quest in Fallout 3, wouldn't I be a bit OP for NV? Also are there any prominent mods that aren't compatible for TTW? |

| Roybatty and his team have set up a huge public dev diary in ttw's website. As of now, there are 18 major updates in total and will most probably keep racking up as they are polishing the mod a lot. I am constantly tempted to install the current version, but then being a patient nugget has its perks as well Actually, if you finish FO3 with TTW, you are gonna be OP in New Vegas. However, I remember they made a plugin that slows down your leveling so that when you get to the Mojave, you wouldn't be a Post-Apocalyptic Jesus. Well most mods are compatible with TTW because TTW is a New Vegas mod. So any mod for NV would work well with it, but the same cannot be said for most FO3 mods. You have to convert them on your own OR if you're lucky enough, you might find a converted version already. In their website, there is a section there that is solely for mods that have been made/converted for TTW. I suggest you check that out. | @nocthesis It all depends on how fast you complete 3. The thing is that you don't even need to complete it in order to get to NV. You just have to get to the Mall and then a train station. Once in NV, you'll be stuck there until you get to Freeside. Then you can go back whenever you want. What I like doing is getting to around level 10 and then going to New Vegas. Then I do the beginning quests with a small edge and when I get to Freeside, I go back to DC. In NV, there's almost a tutorial that would be incredibly dull while OP so I do it when I'm lower. Most New Vegas mods are compatible with TTW as they usually only change things in New Vegas. Rarely a conflict. There are even a few TTW specific mods like TTWInteriors which in my opinion, is a must have. |

| Wait for version 3, it's going to be epic. It should come out pretty soon. There's something like 800 changes, so it'll be way more polished than the current version. |

| I would say personally that it's worth installing purely to take FNV armour into the Capital Wasteland, though you'd better brace yourself for performance hits, especially around the Washington Monument, where FPS drops are frequent, in my experience. _________________ |

| Yeah the performance is awful. I don't even know why. Maybe LOD issues. |

| Oo just two short questions then:
1) When does version 3 come out? I was hoping to get a NV playthrough in pretty soon, but it sounds great so I don't mind waiting.
2) About the train in Freeside.. does that mean TTW is incompatible with Freeside Open? |

2) About the train in Freeside.. does that mean TTW is incompatible with Freeside Open? I really don't know the problems those two are talking about with performances. It runs pretty flawless for me. The only issue I've ever had with it was when I first went to Point Lookout. It crashed a few times when I got off the boat, but after I think the third or fourth time it worked fine and then no further issues. I don't know what they could really change for v3, but the current version is pretty stable. Other than that small hiccup with PL, no real issues. Believe me, I wouldn't be playing it if it was full of bugs. I believe it is incompatible with freeside open. The only way I think it would be open is if the second section of freeside(with the Kings and silver rush and strip gate, ect) were tacked onto the first freeside part and if it didn't move. Like, imagine you have a Lego house and you attatch something to the side. Theoretically, as long as you didn't "move" the first Freeside cell, then it should work. Though I'm just guessing. I wouldn't really take the chance. That mod isn't really all that essential. Think of it like a small sacrifice for a whole new game. |
