Hey everyone I just wanted to know if their was anyone who actually prefer NV over FO4. Like anyone had both and played both but really only deddicate their time to playing NV? I personally like NV but FO4 has better graphics and mechanics

It is always the same song the novelty makes us forget our old loves.

I really do love New Vegas but have not touched it since fallout 4 was released. i think one of the big factors for me is that the combat in fallout 4 is just so much more engaging, so inevitably when i do end up going back to New Vegas it will just be a big change.

FO4 has better mechanics but I can't play it for long because I always realise how boring the world is. Have the smae problem with Skyrim really, but that at least have a very explorable world. FNV doesn't age well unfortunately, but there's always interesting characters and great chances of roleplay to fall back to.

Compared to NV or even FO3, Fallout 4 has less quests, and they're more repetitive. I ran out of quests to do after 100 hours.

I went through the main quest line for FO4, it was a typical boring Bethesda Story

It was mainly the game play and graphics that kept me enticed, but only for as long as any other good looking RPG would; I was never going to sink hundreds of hours into it, inevitably it got boring as nothing was keeping me interested.

I then went back to New Vegas, and have only been back to FO4 once since then, and that was because I was waiting for my Fresh New Vegas install to finish

Honestly Fallout 4 left an awful taste in my mouth in my opinion it felt like a fallout themed Far Cry, I think the biggest problems in FO4 was the voiced protagonist, the lack of choice, and giving the protagonist past lives that were able to be seen and known. For me I didnt feel like the soul survivor, I felt like I was controlling Nate, like in Farcry 3 I felt like Jason Brody (by no means am I saying Farcry is an RPG but i felt FO4 was similar). I felt these steps Bethesda took got rid of the feeling of self in the game, Fallout is an RPG and you are supposed to see yourself in the character, and i think fallout didnt do that justice.

Honestly, no episode can beat NV ( that's my opinion )but I really dislike the skeleton in this game and have no time to play it again. Actually I focus on FO4 because of mods upcoming and I have to say that this game isn't that bad.

@"wealthywyatt" I really enjoy the modding community of new Vegas i liked a lot ov what was done in 4 most were in fact based on mods in new vegas over all i felt 4 had the mass ov a ocean but the depth ov a mud puddle although I do love a lot of the side quests my personal favorites are the cabot house and the toy making ghoul i just believe they made steps forward but a lot back to just put it simply but what bothered me the most was the lack ov a lot ov the RPG elements like having a voiced protagonist and the fixed main quest kills any real replayability for me but that's my two bucks on the whole thing anyway.

One of things that really put me off Fallout 4 first of was the voiced protagonists and the fact that, unlike NV you could see the PC's background, Bam! you have a wife/husband and a son... oh ok. It didn't really feel like an RPG at first, like the character wasn't mine. However saying that, this feeling only lasted throughout the main quest line which I also found lacking tbh.

Compared to NV? Fallout 4 lacks in both story and depth, however it does have superior graphics and mechanics, better combat ect. So I suppose the only think that Fallout 4 is lacking is a good story.

Yeah, in most ways I really prefer NV to F4. New Vegas is one of those game with enough atmosphere and soul for lack of a better word to leave a strong impression from the first time you play it till years later, and I really didn't feel that way about 4. The animations are better and the story is much more driven if not as complex but the overall feel of the game just didn't compare for me.

So many awesome elements were used for NV's Mojave like the old west theme of Goodsprings, the Howard Hughes character of Mr. House and his preservation of old world Vegas, NCR bringing back a semblance of old world America, and the rugged Mescalero feel of the Mojave itself. In comparison not much of Boston or it's characters stood out or were all that memorable though there were a few exceptions. I hate the melee in 4. Oh and Mr. New Vegas, absolutely irreplaceable, saw him on an episode of Bonanza once.....

Fallout 4 wasn't bad but it just didn't have the same oomf that New Vegas did. 4 Did alot of great things but it felt like it focused to much on the wrong areas of gameplay. The settlement system was new but felt buggy and lazily put together, the story was good but didn't really fell as if it was all that focused on it, and there was little content to the game it felt mostly like it was just kinda there.... you know?

Fallout 1/2 > Fallout New Vegas > Fallout Tactics > Fallout 3 > Fallout 4



I do like all of them, but FO4 just was not that enjoyable for me. Played it from start to finish once and that's it.

Still love New Vegas over 4.

Yep until mods come which expand frost to be able to use mods that add stuff.

Then I would sort of like fo4 , but till then I find it having no replay value at least for me.

i would have to agree @LukaTheJawa the game has very little replay value for me i was also one of the lucky/unlucky that had the DLC in beta so i got bored very quickly. I think over time when more people are modding it an the script extender get more functions then maybe ill play it. For me New Vegas wins for my with a sprinkle of TTW

I prefer New Vegas. I bought FO4 and couldn't be bothered to finish it. Reached Diamond City, Dealt with Kellog and then deleted the game. What really killed it for me was the voiced protagonist which led to a lack of choice in dialogue and quests. In my opinion it's way watered down and I'm being hand held. One of the most apped description of Fallout 4 is "It's an ocean of content with the depth of a mud puddle" and I completely agree. I will eventually play it again, only after there's enough quest mods. But my heart belongs in New Vegas.
