| Don't know about Enb boost. But that 4gb new Vegas mod has been an god send. Before I installed that I was getting frequent crashes, like once every hour or so. Now keep in mind I had a lot of mods like the New Vegas anti crash mod and the stutter mod installed and I was still getting crashes. So I searched Google and found a topic about the 4gb mod on the nexus.Downloaded it and close to 70 hours later I've had 2 crashes. So yeah for me personally I probably would have given up playing a long ago if it wasn't for that.
I highly recommended it to anyone who's planning a playthrough of New Vegas. |

| 4GB New Vegas is an essential. It allows New Vegas to use 4 GB of RAM rather 2 GB which it uses by default. This allows for more plugins and a smoother experience. New Vegas Anti-Crash is also good if you don't have that. Also for ENB Boost, I haven't used that so I'm not sure. _________________ "The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma." | A long time since i read about, but ENB manages your memory in a better way. As for 4gb, it is a must have for anyone playing NV. I got a lot of texture problems before using that. And both can be used together. About ENBoost, it is mostly centered in the MEMORY section of enblocal: - MEMORY:
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true (this is to use memory better in 64bit OS) ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true (another tweak to use the enb to handle memory better. Mostly you must test the game with this TRUE and FALSE to see what is better) DisableDriverMemoryManager=true (Boris only uses Nvidia and he made this to be a help for AMD users. I always had this enabled in all my games with ENB, since i use AMD, but some say it can help anyway, because makes ENB handle the video memory) DisablePreloadToVRAM=false (better false. This will make textures and everything be loaded when you see, not before, so you can expect stutter if using too much texture mods. Or try using it TRUE if your GPU is too weak) EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false (this one i never understood right and should not be used unless you have too much stutter and have a big GPU with more than 4gbs - STEP information) ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 (well, never get this too. They say the low, the better. If you experience stutter, just rise the value, from 64>128>256>512>) VideoMemorySizeMb=10886 (this is another tricky one. Vram + RAM - 2048? Or just VRAM? It seens that no one really knows the right amount hahaha. What seens more reasonable is to use the Vram size test with dx9 and put the number that appears here, if using win 8>) EnableCompression=true (better for 2gb< VRAM, and FALSE for more VRAM) AutodetectVideoMemorySize= (if true, it will auto detect VideoMemory Size. Doh)
Well, i hope i can help with this. Already read a lot about but information from STEP seens to be the most correct. _________________ |

| Wow, I am a huge dumbass. I've been playing this game for a few years now and I never used 4GB New Vegas. This could've helped me out a lot with the damn crashes. Well this thread helped me out, hope it helps you out @Lucianhector. _________________ Baby it's your world, ain't it? |
