| You know, they ask me if I were on a desert island and I knew nobody would ever see what I wrote, would I go on writing. My answer is most emphatically yes. I would go on writing for company. Because I'm creating an imaginary — it's always imaginary — world in which I would like to live. - William S. Burroughs

| This isn't really a quote from any particular Historical figure. but when I used to play LOTRO, I came across a quote that was written on some sort of Elvish item and it said the following:
"Those who stride first into battle are not Fearless - but they are Brave beyond compare"
Again, not a quote from history. But I thought it would fit in. Cheers! _________________ "You can't think forever. Sooner or later you have to make a move"

| the first one is a historical quote that we all know...
“That’s one small step for man… one… giant leap for mankind." Neil Armstrong July 21. 1969
the other one is a speech of admiral ross from star trek deep space nine after the dominion war. he is quoting some lines from general macarthurs speech after ww2 ( for the one who dont know it, star trek ds9 plays in the 24th century )
"400 years ago, a victorious general spoke the following words at the end of another costly war: "Today the guns are silent. A great tragedy has ended. We have known the bitterness of defeat and the exultation of triumph. And from both we have learned, there can be no going back. We must move forward, to preserve in peace what we've won in war." _________________ I am not modding for fallout 4, but if someone like to port my mods to fO4, please feel free to do it. | "I should go." -Commander Shepard, Mass Effect
"Democracy? Democracy? Democracy is not what these people need – hell, it’s not even what they want. America has been trying to install democracies in nations for a century, and it hasn’t worked one time. These countries don’t have the most basic building blocks to support a democracy. Little things like we ought to be tolerant of those who disagree with us. We ought to be tolerant of those who worship a different god than us. That a journalist ought to be able to disagree with the President! And you think you could just march into countries based on some fundamentalist religious principles, drop a few bombs, topple a dictator, and start a democracy?! Give me a break. People don’t want freedom. They want boundaries, rules. Protection. From invaders and from themselves. People need a leader who could give them both the support and the constraints to keep chaos at bay. You give them that, and they’ll follow. And that’s where I come in." -Jonathan Irons, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
"H.G. Wells once wrote, "If we don't end wars, wars will end us.". And somehow, I stopped my war. At the time, I couldn't say what had made me spare the Dark Ones. But, I came to realize that the strange visions that haunted my journey were their attempts to reach out to us. I don't know if I was the first to communicate with them, but I will not be the last. And the future--our future--stretches before us like an endless Metro tunnel." -Artyom, Metro 2033, Good Ending
A wise man once said, "He who leads a war for the love of his fellow man, will defeat his enemies." I led my war protecting my family and friends, protecting my home - the Metro. We had won. But to this day I wonder: When we burned the Dark Ones from the face of the earth, was something lost as well...? -Artyom, Metro 2033, Bad Ending |

| "On this site, a powerful engine will be built. An engine that will some day help us to travel a hundred times faster than we can today. Imagine it. Thousands of inhabited planets, at our fingertips. And we'll be able to explore those strange new worlds and seek out new life, and new civilizations. This engine will let us go boldly, where no man has gone before."
