I started a new game of Fallout New Vegas today and after the intro, the screen remained white and my hud appeared, it remained that way and I clicked and accidentally hit Doc Mitchell. So I deactivated all my mods and started the game, and immediately closed it the first opportunity I had to quicksave and reactivated all my mods and it worked fine, until I tried to leave his house, and he wouldn't walk to his door, instead, walking back up to the bed I woke from, the door won't even open after hitting "E" and I got stuck in his house. I tried using console to get out, I was able to, but then couldn't start the quest with Sunny Smiles.

I don't know what's going on at all.

Hey brother, it sounds like those early quests aren't completing properly, which I guess is why you can't leave the house. It would be good if you posted your load order, also you can try verifying the cache. It's a long shot, but maybe this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45739/? will help, because it can start you outside Doc Mitchell's house.

I'll have to see if it will work with alternative start (used it before, not a big fan, but I'll give it a go for this).

I'll try to grab my mod order in a bit too.

Might also be a good idea to run FNV Edit, and create a merge patch. Often, along with verifying the game's cache, solves most of my odd issues.

How many mods do you have?

You should also use Mod Organizer. If you haven't already/don't know about it, you can mod fallout, elder scrolls etc without installing the mods into the directory, which kind of stops things mucking up, it installs them externally, and you can also make different profiles with different mod lists etc, really handy wee tool.

What has helped me in the past to get my game working again is the process of elimination method. Start by turning of a few mods at a time. Like 4 or 5 and testing your game to see if it is working. Keep this up until the game works. If it starts working then start turning the mods back on one at a time and test it until you find the problem mod. Then just leave the game breaking mod off and enjoy your game. I have had to do this a few times.

Oh also NMM crashed on me after deactivating all the mods.

I had a similar problem but it was when i had about 250+mods. You should really get mod organizer
