So incase you haven't heard already, Bethesda took it upon themselves to create a survival mode in fallout 4. Wait, scratch that, they're making an actual survival mode for fallout 4. They are adding "hunger, diseases, thirst, sleep deprivation" and so on. They also said in another tweet that DLC news is coming soon. Survival mode should have been in the base game. I am wondering how they are going to pull it off.

i only wish they relase the geck for FO4 as soon as possible!

I wonder if the survival overhaul is doing to be free in an update or if we'll have to pay for it as part of a DLC. I'm guessing the former because I can't imagine Bethesda stooping that low, considering it should have been part of the base game since release. I also can't wait for the DLC announcement. Here's hoping for an addition to the ending story to expand on your chosen faction.

I guess that also means creation kit is also coming around same time as the DLC.

Oh wow this is exciting news. I loved hardcore in New Vegas, it just added so much more depth to normal gameplay. Also an immediate use for all those food items you wouldn't normally care about.


Now about that GECK...

I think the survival overhaul will be a free update it like horse combat for Skyrim. And like others i cant wait for the creation kit as well as the DLC should be good as ive enjoyed Fallout 4 only problem i really have with it its the lack of evil options.

I really doubt they would make us pay for the survival mode tbh but i really hope they release a trailer for the upcoming dlc soon as it will give us a sneak peek at it and im sure raise a lot of good discussions

Seems a bit ridiculous that Survival mode will be dlc (let's hope it's free dlc) seeing as how Obsidian introduced it in FNV and was great.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone made a much more viable survival mode via the GECK.

All in all, I just hope they don't drop the ball on dlc. They're pretty good at expansion packs.

Imagine DUST survival in Fallout 4.... if they did ever make it they should change the name and the atmosphere should be blizzard like weather.

Im looking forward to it, but honestly not much will bring me back to fallout 4. It feels stale compared to many rpg games of this year nonetheless fallout nv.

I can't wait for the legit Survival mode. I've got high hopes for it, but I know it will most likely be improved on with mods. Regardless, still can't wait for it.

I'm intrigued about what they are going to do with diseases, but overall I'm really looking forward to the overhaul for "bullet sponge" mode. Hopefully it is a free update, because I will NOT pay for something mods can do.

I imagine they won't release the GECK until after the DLC announcement, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm honestly not really all that excited about it. The GECK on the other hand, I am excited for which kind of sucks to say, but I don't know FO4 just isn't that great in my opinion. Hopefully DLC can improve that though.

Finally we will be able to play Fallout the way it's meant to be played. Though i'm curious about the DLC too.

It's going to be a Sealab DLC, mark my words.

The new survival mode looks quite promising, i may have to give it a whirl if it ends up being better than the new vegas one. i wasn't a huge fan of that one. I'm sure they'll implement it better though. As for DLC, i'm just really hoping it adds some really awesome and creepy new areas to the game. Either that or something that continues after the main quest similar to what broken steel did. Either way i'm sure it'll be some good news

The author of DUST has an active subreddit /r/FODUST he gave a ton of info on what he has planned.
*It takes place soon after the bombs drop, so the US military will be around, bandits, etc.
*Nuclear weather almost all the time
*Nuclear winters
