Well with New Vegas, the ending is very definitive - it's over. With Fallout 3 you can continue frolicking through the wasteland after it's all said and done. So i'm in the same boat as you really. |

| I'm pretty sure I've lost count of how many times I've beaten Fallout 3, but I think I've only beaten New Vegas 2 or 3 times. I tried to get every ending possible, but kinda gave up after being kinda disappointed with the ending of New Vegas in general, especially because of the fact that you can't keep playing after you beat the main quest. Now I'm like most everyone else, and just screw around with a bunch of mods that make the game seem never-ending, or keep making characters. I even tried beating New Vegas with the Zombie Apocalypse mod on the whole time, and it actually went pretty well. |

| Well I've actually never finished a single game, because finishing it to quickly, really kills the build up. I mean that y'know I wanted to feel like I've been on a REAL long journey just finish it off. I mean I'm not saying, go do everything else you can, before the end, I mean is just focusing on beating the game, just isn't all that fun to me, I know some people may not agree with me, and that is OK, I just always felt that things should have there time, more taken. So, NO I don't think you should feel ashamed. _________________ METAL

| Hahaha I wouldn't be ashamed. Fallout is kept nice and fresh by all the mods! I've knocked out FO3 quite a few times, and FNV only twice, and once was on the PS3. FNV is basically an endless journey, what with all the different ways there are to play, even in the vanilla game. Then you have zombies and flyable/ drivable things, superpowers, and all sorts of weaponry (and even porn if that's how you like it; I don't judge), so it's really a different game each time. Considering all my FNV characters, I think I've spent... umm... between 750 and 800 hours? Feels about right. Also, there's the Tale of Two Wastelands mod. Oh my god. Anyone here use TTW? _________________ Hopped onto the Undertale train, now there's a big ass dog on my lap and I'm stuck here. Determination, etc., etc.

| I am using TTW right now and it's really smooth for the first time. Play time right now is about 40 hours without a single crash! I think my playtime is also around 800 hours haha _________________ [center] You're in the danger-zone!

| I've never finished the main quest on any Bethesda game I've played because I get too focused on other things in the game. |

| I've finished Fallout 3 only a couple of times because the vanilla game doesn't have an open ending. I've finished New Vegas about 3 times first with the NCR, then the legion, and now Mr. House. New Vegas also lacks an open ending even with dlcs but it has more endings, it's definitely worth finishing the main questline tho. |

| I can relate to that. I have actually never played the main quest to its conclusion because I fear I'll loose the excitement of playing then. Which I suppose is silly since I've finished the Skyrim main quest 5 times and it didn't ever stop me from doing yet another play-through.
I recall I did get fed up with the Dragonborn part of Skyrim at one point though, and used mods like Skyrim Unbound to try a very different game style. I've never seen any FNV mods where you're not the Courier though, but it's probably out there. _________________ “For the sin of the idolater is not that he worships stone, but that he worships one stone over others.” - Scott Bakker

| Yeah there are a few 'Alternative Beginnings' mods for both Fallout 3 and NV I think. |

| I finished Fallout 3 but never New Vegas, I somehow always end up getting sidetracked playing a quest mod or going on a rampage through Goodsprings with some overpowered weapon that shoots explosive laser armor piercing rounds or something like that |

| Why should be? It's just games, you can play whichever way you see fit. It's your freedom. Well, just like Burger King's slogan - have it in your way. |

| Nah...I'm also in that same category...never finished because of modding too much...at some point maybe down the line...but to me, it's my game...my rules! I have beat FO3....and the ending saddened me so much that I never went there again! _________________ "We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold." | No you shouldn't be ashamed because your playing the game how you want to play so it shouldn't really matter if you finish it or not. The ending can be see as one of the floors with fallout because if you choose to complete the final quest your unable to finish any content that you missed or forgot about. This is why there are many mods which allow you to play on. |

| To be honest I've only beaten new vegas once as well. The fact that you can't play after the ending discourages me to complete the main story again. That and the fact that the battle of hoover dam isn't really that exciting. I spend most of my time making massive npc battles to fight in our playing with monster wars. _________________
