I just finished my second playthrough of fallout 4 but I've also been playing a bit of new vegas and I've noticed that I enjoy new vegas more than fallout 4. I found that I enjoyed the quests in new vegas more and it seems like there was more work put into the gameplay. Right now I feel like there isn't much more to do in the game and since I've completed the game more than once I'm starting to burn out.
Does anyone else feel the same way as me or similar. Also I'm not saying that I hate or dislike the game, I actually think the game is great but quests seem like a downside except for a few.

New Vegas also felt like a Fallout game, if you know what I mean. It wasn't afraid to be ridiculous and retained some of the western flair from the originals. Fallout 3/4 quests have had a tone much more like your traditional Post-Apocalyptic world. This isn't bad at all, but it doesn't differentiate itself much.
That being said, I'm still enjoying it quite a bit because I'm wandering around without using fast travel. There are so many little things that you run across that you'd otherwise miss, and these gems really make it shine.

i pretty much have 103 hours played and discovered and been through almost all the areas in the game, and honestly, im not hooked... the combat is awsome but the quests just suck Compared to skyrim and New Vegas in my opinion. Crafting your own settlement is cool but once youve done that then what? If youve done all the quests and been to every location theres not much to do, you could start a new playthrough but it just seems like chore since the playstyle is the same everytime. Maybe all the fallouts are like that, i wouldnt know since ive only played fallout 4 and new vegas, But compared to the amount of fun ive had in skyrim (like being able start a new playthrough as something different like a mage or a thief or BOTH) its very bland. Maybe someone can give some advice on how to make the game a bit more fun or how to be more creative.

i played fallout 3 on console for 4 years and never got bored and with fallout 4 im bored of it after a week and a half dont get me wrong its a brilliant game and i still think it deserves game of the year but as a fallout game something feels as if it is lacking but i can't really place what that something is.
it has great music (due to most of it being from fallout 3) it has a great story and the first person gunplay is great i haven't actually used vats yet besides from the red rocket mole rat attack scene and thats my favorite part as i always hated being forced to use vats in the older fallout games due to playing on higher difficulty.

I have all 50 achievements for this game on Steam, I've definately played it and then some and I've been working on mods (As much as I can do right now). I'm bored and I don't see that changing until next month when hopefully we get the GECK back.. Need new quests, weapons armour and places.

It's awesome game and I loved it, but I guess i'm pretty used to mods so that's why I think i'm getting bored with it. Once the GECK is out i'll probably start a new game and play the shit out of it haha.

When mods come out, I feel that Fallout 4 will have much more replay to it. Other than that, I too find myself going back to older Bethesda titles. Such as skyrim. BUT, I would not be going back if I did not have all the mods that I have today, if it was simply vanilla, I would have the same predicament I am having with Fallout 4 today.

It doesn't feel alive like New Vegas did or even FO3. New Vegas felt more alive then FO3 to me. Many of the locations are lazy and don't really have anything interesting in them.
For example the Old Custom House, I went in and there's just this small foyer and that's it. Nothing interesting in it. Just a room filled with Super Mutant stuff. I toggled tcl just to look but there wasn't anything beyond it.
I felt the same about the C.I.T. rotunda. No lecture rooms to explore, no nothing really. It was empty safe for some muties and synths and a loot box at the end.
I have said before we will never know what happened over the course of development but you'd think 5-7 years in development they would have more to show for it. It almost seems like they had to scrap the game and start over again. Maybe more then once.

Game was fun for like the first 40 hours, maybe even longer.
But Bethesda made some questionable and bad design calls that probably destroyed the end game for Fallout 4.
I honestly think Fallout 4 was made for the broader audience instead of strictly for FO4 fans. This really didn't feel like a Fallout game in terms of making tough choices, karma (playing evil) etc. Also, obv the common complaint was the lack of depth in factions and npcs. I have to agree, no one was really interesting... factions just ask you to do stuff for them etc...
I read a funny comment somewhere about the dialogue system. It's pretty much a yes, yes by question, yes by joke, and no but it actually means yes. This pretty much severely limits outcomes of the dialogue.
Not only that I realized that the FO4 trailer pretty much spoiled 2 endings (although the other 2 endings is pretty much the same) hence why I guess the ending wasn't so surprising.
Yeah, I got bored of the game pretty quickly too. And I guess I'm not the only one.

I have been taking my time with the game quite a bit too prevent getting burned out. I am over 100 hours in and i haven't beaten the main story yet or really dived into the settlement building too much. I dont imagine i will be done my first playthrough untill i have atleast 200 hours and after my first playthrough im going to do one with mods. So i cant imagine i will be getting burnt out of it anytime soon.

i kinda want to take a break from fallout 4 untill the new weapon and armor mods come out that use custom meshes/textures. im just tired of the current guns in fallout 4.

im about 122 hours in and still havnt completed the main quest i havnt had this much fun since fallout 3 i spent less time on new vegas then fallout 3 even though new vegas feels more alive but doesnt have that this world is dead feel that fallout 4 and 3 have.
but yeah mods will make this game ten times better cant wait for warhammer related mods.

I'm still really enjoying the game, personally. Unlike most of the people posting here, I didn't like New Vegas - so I'm thankful Fallout 4 isn't anything like it. If Fallout 4 had ended up being 'New Vegas HD' I doubt I would have played more than 3 or 4 hours of it.
@maybenexttime - in this day and age when games cost tens of millions of dollars (and sometimes even more than that) to make, any game developer with a brain is going to try and appeal to as many people as possible. Its called 'we want to stay in business.'
And frankly the 'this game wasn't made for real Fallout fans' comments annoy me. I'm a huge Fallout fan and I love Fallout 4. There's no singular checklist of things that constitutes a 'real' Fallout fan. Different people like different things.
I'm a huge Fallout fan that loves having a speaking character and there are huge Fallout fans that prefer a silent protagonist... neither is right or wrong. Preferences don't work that way.

I didn't really feel it playing fallout 4 as i did in 3 and Vegas. I still think the best fallout is vegas tho.

@tesvixen I'm pretty sure Bethesda would have stayed in business regardless if they were trying to pursue a general audience or not. I think you're picking at words rather seeing the overall picture. I'm saying the fact that Bethesda pursued the general audience route, it hurt the game's longevity and fun. As I mentioned in my earlier post, "no end game".
Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 were made by Bethesda. Fallout 1 + 2 and technically New Vegas were made by the original creators, Interplay/Obsidian. I think there is a reason why people say it's not a "real" Fallout game and the argument has merit to it. Two different styles of Fallout and interpreted in two different ways. A lot of people usually use the "real" Fallout game comment when talking about the games developed by the original creator. You said you're a huge Fallout fan but don't like New Vegas which pretty much proves my point. Which pretty much sounds like you're a Bethesda Fallout fan. There isn't anything wrong with that, heck I enjoyed FO3 but Bethesda's Fallout 4 game took out a lot of the RPG elements that Interplay's/Obsidian's game brought.
No one said anything about it being right or wrong. Like what I listed was just my opinion. Again you're reading too much into the words and missing the overall picture.
Funny thing is... I thought I was the only one crazy and who got burned of Fallout 4 pretty quickly but I decided to do an easy 5 min research on Steam to see if I might have missed something... those top Steam Reviews (4 of 5 top reviews listed Fallout 4 as not recommended and the only positive review isn't so positive) or only 1 of 4 people disliked the game sort of speaks volumes about the game itself. And a lot of the arguments presented earlier has merit.
If the comment "The game wasn't made for real Fallout fans" annoys you, than you have no one to blame but yourself for that. As you said neither is right or wrong. Preferences don't work that way. What I said in my post was my opinion and not a rant. I did mention I found FO4 enjoyable for the first 40 hours and so did I not?

I'm not lucky enough to own a rig powerful enough to play the game yet but I'll say this much:
What makes Fallout games (both Bethesda AND Obsidian made) great comes not from the base game but from the creativity and vision of modders who get to play the game without having a business mindset, who make content and mechanics not out of obligation or for monetary gain but for the sheer enjoyment of having a better game experience; something that is not offered in many other games or franchises.
To me that's all that matters.

@maybenexttime Well, of course this game wasn't made for "real Fallout fans", but Fallout 3 wasn't made for real Fallout fans neither. Bethesda has only made 2 Fallouts if you think about it and in my honest opinion, all the Fallouts before Fallout 3 sucks except for the story but gameplay for me was horrible.
I'm already bored since I don't have any quests left but i'm still playing discovering new places, the map may be smaller than Fallout 3 but it has so much content in it so there's still left to do for a while at least enough to play for about a 100 hours, I think you're being to fast to judge a game which was obviously made to be played for more than 40 hours.
I do agree with you on something. I also saw this comment elsewhere "It's pretty much a yes, yes by question, yes by joke, and no but it actually means yes" and that totally annoys the shit out of me, specially when I don't want to do those boooooring Minutemen missions.
Anyway, this is all just my honest opinion, don't mean any harm.
