I'm a huge Batman fan, so I will tell some Comic Books that are my favorite:
The Killing Joke
theres an animated movie of it but i heard they ruined the classic because they needed to expanded the story for the movie's sake... with filler (which anyone with exceptional english skills knows that is a terrible word). the filler was batgirl wanting to jump batman's bones the whole time (which i heard is awkward considering their relationship).

In all honesty, though I do own it, I consider the Killing Joke to be pretty overrated. The art is beautiful, sure, and the story is good, but the way some people talk about it you would think it was the DC magnum opus. I beg to differ personally. It's a good Batman story, but this is the publisher who put out things like Sandman.
And I say that as someone currently wearing a Joker avatar.

@"deathstalker" I watched the animated movie and I didn't have a clear opinion on what happened between Batgirl and Batman. The prologue part was very good but that scene was a little unecessary.

I'm currently sitting on about 430 issues and I go get more about once every two weeks. I am about as comic book nerdy as it gets hahah. Everything from DC, Marvel, the obvious, to the smaller companies like Valiant. I really enjoy reading older comics but the good ones are harder to come by these days. It's almost an addiction at this point to read and collect them
But I am currently reading, Deadpool Last Days of Magic, Steve Rogers Captain America, Batman and "____" - a team up series, and Green Lantern Corps.

Just purchased the Killing Joke movie. Was pretty good, the whole Bat Girl filler was okay but not really necessary. Felt kinda just out of place to the Killing Joke story but was not terrible. I really liked The Dark Knight Returns story/Animated movies better. Love the Joker character in all his insane incarnations.

The Tim Drake Joker from the Batman Beyond movie was one of the best Jokers on my opinion.

So, Killing Joke didn't stay 100% faithful, big deal, most things don't. Can't say I was shocked that they made the Batgirl/Batman relationship more than it ever was previously, but I can tell you why it was done. It's simple, it makes it mean more to Bruce when Joker does what he does to Barbara. I do agree though, completely unnecessary. This obviously wasn't meant to be digested by people who actually read the damn thing, it was meant for everyone else who couldn't be bothered, but that's okay, as stated before, it's overrated at this point, but was completely invisible outside of the people who read it before. One extreme to another. But back to comics! How about that Wally West coming back into the DC Universe in Rebirth, crazy right!? (Trying to change the subject in a not so subtle way)

I used to enjoy marvel, mostly iron man. I actually read every single main issue of it, from the 60s all the way till the extremis saga. World's most wanted was my favorite, seeing Tony slowly losing his mind(Literally) was interesting, and seeing him metaphorically de-evolving by forcing himself to use his older suits was also cool
Honestly, I stopped reading at secret wars 2. For those who aren't aware, that was the issue that killed off the marvel universe. It was actually pretty cool, the ending was quite comforting
Anyways, the comic books now are going the way of video games, meaning that they're just festering SJW fests that nobody reads. Honestly, what does marvel have to gain by appealing to people who don't buy their comics and alienating their actual fans? Actually, if you read up on comicsgate, it shows that there is indeed a political agenda going on, but I'm getting ahead of myself, you can look that up on your own. The way things are now, I don't think I will be reading any of the newer stuff at this point, aside from the above, I'm just getting too old for this, anyone else feel that way?
