| FO4 is good enough that would make me want a game from Obsidian. But let's be real, if we want actual breakthroughs in gameplay or anything else related to the game, it needs to be another Bethesda's studio. |

| I'd love to see more Fallout games made by Obsidian, but at the moment, they're busy making pew pew tank games and RPGs(Armored Warfare and Skyforge) |

| Im still playing it but i am having a small feeling that that i am almost finish with the game and i dont wan't to be finish, i am also finding the levelcap kinda stupid i am already Level 40 and that sucks i wanted to be leveling up slowly and take my time into deciding what perks i would need instead i level up 3 times in 2 hours. I hope that mods can fix it. _________________ - Steam:

| Fallout 4 is probably the best game i played this year.....and i play alot of games.
So far the story is amazing, Alot of old characters come back and the enemies are atleast not easy as in the other games. Super Mutants and raiders are tougher than in 3 or NV (I could clear Vault 3+Fiend area in half a hour) _________________ |

| There was a lot of mixed feelings about FO4 before it came out and some still cling to previous FO games, but seriously, FO4 is impressive and better in all the ways a Fallout fan would want improvements.
I think everyone could tell you things that could be changed to make it slightly better, but that is all a matter of perspective.
I haven't finished the game because I keep finding new things and restarting. It would seem a waste to a lot of people, but if you're having fun each time then there's no loss. I will admit some things are a little different and there are a couple things I'd like to change, but I think it'll be addressed with the mods that come out down the road. _________________ |

| The best Fallout yet, has an extremely interesting dynamic with ethics, morals, the future, and deadly cycles. I was really surprised with how Bethesda handled the story. The Institute were the boogeymen for a while but once you get to see what they are truly about, your perception of the whole Wasteland changes and you begin to see the bigger picture. Gameplay is so smooth that it feels like Bethesda did some black magic to make it as good as it is. Looking at your Pipboy is quick and easy, everything is just instant and feels natural (finally). Enemies flank you and take cover when they see you are clearly equipped with good weapons and armor. The atmosphere of Boston is so damn good, the weather system feels natural and doesn't make my game take a nose dive in frames and makes every situation feel intense and cinematic. Bethesda finally made GOOD companions, every single one of them are interesting and you care for them. Overall Todd and his cronies made a damn fine game, it over exceeded my expectations and was a pleasant surprise. |

| Agreed that this is probably the best fallout, at least regarding game mechanics. So much you can do, modders are gonna do amazing things with it.
I have issue with much of the writing, both backstory bits you find in consoles and such, and the main quest story. I already knew vault-tec got into some bad stuff with treating the vaults as experiment playgrounds, but that got pushed a bit far this time. Felt like lazy writing, too much reliance on certain tropes. Then there are the four factions you can side with. All are right, in ways, but also wrong in others, some more than others. Generations of bad blood, yet given what you can accomplish, it should be possible, though difficult, to unite the factions, rather than being forced to pick just one.
This frustrated me to the point I finished my 1st playthrough by mini-nuking all the factions and settlements, then starting a new game.

| I have about 50 hours in the game and I can say it is a very good game and yet above average. It is really interesting because there is a lot of nostalgia to live up to when compared to fallout 3. I still say this game is a great game and I don't see what all the complaining was about upon arrival of release. Either way whether this is the best fallout will come down to your own personal taste. _________________ |

| @"jinothewarmachine" It's a great game, you may not like it at first (as I didn't), but once you get used to the new SPECIAL and the voiced narrative you just get immersed in all the greatness that it has to offer (combat, better sneak and my favourite TONS of content). |

| I would absolutely blow an artery in pure excitement if Obsidian does the another Fallout.
However in some ways, I feel Beth did just take as many steps forwards as they did backwards. The limited dialogue, and lousy charisma checks just irk me, and I do like the voiced PC, however it does kinda ruin role play experience, especially when your character looks nothing like they sound.
The leveling system is just "meh" I know they were trying to make skills more meaningful, but they could of handled it differently like have 2 different sections of perks that have different points like one could be "The Skill perks" and the other would be your normal perks.
But my biggest gripe is the damage resistance that they threw back in, thus once again I can get kill by pitiful low Cal. weapons, mole rat nibbles, and rotting pool sticks while in power armor, they should at least use both DR and DT.
Other than those complaints its the most Fallout looking game I have seen where all the building's, and machine's art style is close to those found in Fallout 1 & 2, it also helps that this game has no weird color filter either. There are some other positives I would say, but this is what most stuck.
All in all, its a good game, but its kind of a poor Fallout game. _________________ +++++ Thought for the Day: There is no better millstone for success than that of adversity. +++++ |

| The story is great, but it still sorta feels mainstreamed and they cut MAJOR corners in the making of weapons, SAY GOOD BY TO UNIQUE WEAPONS WORTH FINDING, here's why. Remember those cool unique weapons that were interesting to find because they had a cool texture or added little details on the weapon, well there not in fallout 4!!! Instead you get a "unique" weapon that the only difference is it's stats, but looks exactly the same as the base weapon, like wtf it's no fun looking for generic weapons, The only instance of a true unique weapon is kremvhs tooth, The broadsider, cryolater, lorenzos artifact, deathclaw hand, and some others. I truly miss the interesting unique weapons, i spent HOURS looking for in fallout nv. Example, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_unique_weapons
That link should prove my point. |

| @mrnglry3I can agree with this much... though I figure modders will fix this eventually. To be honest though... I strangely like the limited amount of base weapons we have. You have your classics, and then you have those signature weapons that make you think "...Yeah. This is Fallout" when you see them (IE: Fat Man)... but the reason I actually like this is mainly due to the imagination it actually gives for possible DLC weapons. Either that or mods... and with mods come the possibility of creating even stranger weapons.... even "mod" mods on the basics. Perhaps for example, someone will create a mod which allows you to create a literal NERF gun in the form of a Laser Rifle, with a Plasma Rifle under-barrel... and provide a toggle key to switch which one gets used. I want to personally see some of the more "classic" weapons return... such as the Wattz series weaponry, or the Plasma Caster. I could go on a wishlist of weapons I'd want to see... but it'd turn this post into a novel. :S _________________ |

| The game is fine as it is right now. Is it better than New Vegas? No. Does it have modding potential to be better than modded New Vegas? Yes, no doubt. Bethesda introduced a lot of cool things (some came with the engine itself, Skyrim had them) that will make FO4 the best Fallout game (except the first 2 ofc), after modders will take care of bugs and bad design choices.
One thing that modders won't be able to "fix" is the map size, yea, I know there are a lot of things to do and places to go but the map itself is quite small. _________________ "There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgMYikGtZMo - My Youtube Channel |

| I still like Fallout 3 and NV better. Fallout 4 is okay, but I feel that is missing a whole lot of features that made the former games so great. I don't really like how they simplified the game mechanics and Fallout 4 seems more like a FPS than an RPG. I can't wait to see what mods come out though. |

| The jetpack is quite disappointing, the combat mechanics are good, but the variety of weapons leaves much to be desired. The tiny world and short quest line are disappointing. Also, the Benevolent Leader achievement is impossible to get. The graphics are decent, but I don't see this game being truly up there with FO3 and FNV until mods come out. I was also hoping for more power armour variety, but I do have to say, they nailed it with how one gets in and out of power armour and how the armour works in the world (Water Breathing [For short periods of time], radiation protection and how strong it is over regular equipable armour.
Another thing I find disappointing is how walls auto snap together and you can't stop it from doing that. I hope like the last game in Big Mountain where your brain was removed, I hope in DLC we can eventually become a synth (Was a big fan of the ARES android mod in FNV).
For me, I'm eagerly awaiting my M4, AKMS and SKS mods and more variety in ammo.. Was disappointed to see guns from the last game gone. I do hate how the paint on the armour has effect on the gear, because what I think looks good gives an effect I couldn't care less about. I'd like to use military paint or Pink paint, but I also like the bonus from the PRISM one, but the PRISM one looks like crap. Oh and the coloured light choices are VERY dim and make it hard to see.. I have to refrain from using purple light and use a bright white light instead.
I find it annoying they didn't release mod tools with the game, but I'll be more forgiving if they come in January as I've gotten almost all the achievements to this game, beat the story and everything and now I'm bored out of my mind with Fallout 4. I'd normally fix this boredom by modding, but we can't really do that right now due to no mod tools.
I do miss the reloading bench from FNV, I always loved making new ammo when I needed it. I have hope for the settlement building resources when mods come out as I see people adding a ton of new things to it. Personally, I just want another building near Diamond City like Liberty Loft mod from FNV. I don't really need a whole settlement, but like the home plate house, I can see modding a townhouse with more resources added to be quite enjoyable, like flat screen TV's nicer beds, more modern computer terminal I can place on a desk.. etc
Maybe I'll go back to FO4 and scout out some promising locations for potential player home spots, I was looking yesterday and I think I found one near Cabot House. I had more to say but it's early in the morning and I can't recall right now, so I'll likely add more later, that's some of the bigger things on my mind about FO4. It's a decent game with decent graphics that I think has massive potential when mods come out. But really, having recently replayed the non-DLC storyline of FNV, it was MUCH longer than the non-DLC storyline of FO4 is by far. I do like how even on very easy, the game is harder than the previous ones. _________________ |

Its probably a hard balance to strike. Tons of people complained that FO3/NV's shooting mechanics were terrible (and rightly so, they were in some regards). So Bethesda went to great lengths to ensure that FO4 felt like a real shooter - they consulted with id software and even brought in a guy from Bungie that works on Destiny. Anyway, I don't feel the mechanics were simplified personally - they added a lot of depth in features like the settlements and customization, and Power Armor is like a game in and of itself. But I do agree that a lot of things could have been done better. |

| Fallout 4 is a good game. Most new additions & dynamics work good but my biggest gripe is the absence of the ability to holster weapons on your character. Having weapons displayed on my character is a feature that I really would have liked to have & shouldn't been scrapped.
I've also noticed that the 3rd person aiming rifle/sniper animation poses are a bit wrong. Quite glaring when using vats, which shifts into cinematic mode & shows your character aiming but character's eye is not at all aligned with the sights or scope. Seems like only one animation pose is used for both focused (sniping) & unfocused aiming (shooting from the hip).
Maybe there are technical reasons for the changes but I somewhat feel it's just laziness on the part of the developer. Those things actually makes gameplay more dynamic. Wouldn't complain if they were not present before but they were present in both FO3 & FNV. |
