| Hey guys, when I start FO4Edit through MO2 it loads my mod list but then gives an error "an error has occurred while loading modules, editing is disabled. Check the message log and correct the error." I have a couple .txt files in my Logs folder where MO2 is installed, but nothing i can make sense of. I've used FO4edit on it's own successfully in the past, and currently use MO2 regularly. As far as i know i have it configured correctly, using the "configure .exe" tab to locate the .exe in the Fallout 4 data folder.
I'm usually pretty decent with troubleshooting these things but I'm stumped at the moment. I'm determined to use FO4edit, and if I can learn something new about MO2 out of this it could be worth the headache. I appreciate any help at all. |

| If the editor is opening through the MO dashboard, then you have the binary path correct, so the problem must lie elsewhere. The discord channel for the MO 2 dev's is a great place to get quick answers. It is a very active channel: https://discordapp.com/invite/5tCqt6V
I can't imagine modding without the editor or MO 2 at this point. Did you install MO 2 outside the game folder? This by itself was the cure for all kinds of 'bugs'. Mine is installed in the common folder, but outside the actual game folder. This was one of the things that caused me fits until I did this. I also keep the mod downloads on a separate SSD for ease of backup and it seems to work much better this way. I also use a separate MO 2 install (stand alone) for each game.
Also, when in my configuration for FO4Edit in MO 2, I do not have a path designated for the "start in" and there are no "arguments" necessary either (unlike some of the SSE plugins). GamerPoets is also a great source of info for MO 2 details and use.

| I havent had much time for my pc and i just got around to seeing this post, i really appreciate you taking the time to give some assistance.
Thanks for the advice, my problem was just a couple esp files being in the wrong order, which surprised me that it could have this affect. Now my mo2, creation kit and fo4edit all work perfectly. I also recently discovered discord along with that channel, so that was some great advice in your end. |
