| Hiya, I am hoping someone can give me a hand..I've tried to work out how to do this, but I've reached a dead end. I have 2 different sniper rifles: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42619/?
and another type of sniper rifle mod, however they both use pretty generic cross hair, one is the standard red mil dot, and the other is just a black cross hair. I wanted to use a couple of the sights from this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35908/?
That mod only replaces the vanilla sniper/varmint rifle scopes, but I thought to take the textures,(the mod only contains textures), and replace the textures of the rifle mod cross hairs. I cannot find any textures for either rifle that are cross hairs and trying it through geck for either rifle only has a .nif. What am I missing?

| agreed! Not sure which I need more..trouble shooting or a tutorial and help on how to do it..I guess it would all be in how you look at the issue I have..I need instruction and help on how to do it..but I AM having trouble making it work. Either way, I would apprieciate any help/trouble shooting/instruction, thrown my way. |

| Cant you just find the crosshair locations from the rifles in your data folder and rename the crosshair file you want to use to them and then replace them ? Thats what would do |

| I tried that..for instance the PSG-1 mod, (1st mod link in OP), I went into the data\texture folder, there are 2 scope textures, one is the actual scope, the 1st/3rd person view on the weapon and the the other is a kind of fuzzy blue ball. I changed the name of the original texture, and the name of the one that I wanted to the original, but when I went in game, it was the same black cross hair. Would you be willing to take a look at it? |

| Find the scope reticle model included in the scope reticle mod and rename the file to "mildotscope," then extract it and overwrite to: "meshes/interface/hud" And then all weapons using the mildot scope reticle should use the modded one. Hope this helps |

| The red mildot texture you mentioned is in data/textures/weapons/scope, and if you replace it with any scope texture you want from the scope replacer mod, by renaming that texture to mildot_o.dds, any rifle using the default red mildot will now use whatever scope you chose. | Thank you for the reply Funky! Yes that does make sense, however I am not looking to replace the vanilla game scopes, I looking to replace the scopes of two different sniper rifle mods. I cannot find any crosshair texture for either sniper rifle I'm looking to change. I even opened them up in nif and checked the tsnips to follow the file path for what I have to assume would be the cross hair texture, I get a 'cannot be found' msg. |

| To change the cross hair texture for a sniper rifle you would have to do it through GECK not by editing the .nif. If I remember correctly, all you have to do in GECK is change the texture path and it should give you the desired result. |
