I've been modding fallout to have more variety in the talon company and I was wondering who hired the company and what main goal is besides spreading chaos as this question is never answered in game. Do you think it is someone in fallout 3 or some other kind of faction or person in the fallout universe.

It was Tenpenny,because you disarmed the bomb and ruined his fireworks haha and now he wants your head.

Well they are hired by everyone.
If you give them caps they will do anything.
But as wiki says they are hired by unknown benefactor and someone is posting bounties on your head if you do good stuff and get good karma.

I actually meant the company as a whole not the hitmen because you can find a note in the game about their benefactor and I was wondering if anyone could think of who the benefactor could be.

I think that should be a quest mod in the making. That and expanding the Underground Railroad.

im pretty sure they work the same way as the bandits aka mercenaries in skyrim just to show how corrupt people can be and add more depth plus imagine fallout 3 without the talon company alot of areas would be pretty easy to pass through so i think they where just used as a filler and the unknown benefactor had no real significance i hope what i said made sense lol

I know if you disarm the bomb without killing Burke, he makes the hit on you.  If you do kill Burke its Tenpenny.  If you don't kill anyone and are just a good person its just some unknown person.

Well if you ever took the Contract Killer Perk you would get your answer. Daniel Littlehorn is the man behind sending the Talon Company after your head. He wants good people killed, which is why when you have high good karma Talon Company has the Bounty Note about "Another Do Gooder"
Just like Talon Company is the opposite of the Regulators. If you have bad karma the Regulators come for you and if you take the law bringer perk you can work for them killing evil people. It all adds up.

Talon Company is known for accepting any contract which pays good caps. Doesn't matter who the 'benefactor' or contractee is; as long as the caps are good then they'll take the job.

Be forwarned: unlike the info on the WiKi, if you are playing on very hard difficulty, the Talon Company hitmen will number anywhere from three to four. Patrols can can number anywhere from three to seven. On average it is three yet there are two areas which will have as many as seven Talon Company in a group.

I always thought that the benefactor was Mr Burke or Tenpenny. I get the feeling that I found a note referring to Mr Burke hiring the Talon company BUT I may (probably am) wrong about that!

It may be possible that Bethesda never revealed it which would give you a lot of creative freedom for you mod.

Well I like to think it is the Overseer in Vault 101 because you your dad caused so much trouble in just a few hours. So I like to think he sends out a letter or something and has them come after you maybe maybe not we don't know.

I think the guy you can give ears to with the contract killer perk is the one who hires the Talon
