what skill do you max out first i max out repair speech or lockpick 

You always come up with good questions that make me think really hard as to what I would normally do in Fallout. The skill I max out first would have to be speech, sneak, or lockpick I kindof give them the same amount of skill points every time I level up.

I don't max out repair anymore, as it kinda let me steamroll the game. I like to only add 5-ish points to repair per level, to add in more challenge. Same thing with my primary weapon type for that playthrough; if I rushed points into my main weapon stats, I'd be steamrolling the wasteland by level 6.

Lately I like to max out speech first (sometimes barter in NV), for the improved speech checks. I feel like I can make up low combat skills with proper gameplay, but can't really cheat speech checks.

I always immediately boost up speech. It's the best option and many questmods have speech requirements.

My Lock pick because i always come across locked crates and doors so i need the skill to open them because there might be some goods in there

New Vegas= Speech

Fallout 3= Sneak

Probably a bit boring but i always max out Guns, speech and repair first, the trusty trio has never let me down.

I max out melee, survival, and science for maximum fun.

In Fallout 3 sneak. Especially since I usually play with an endurance level of 1 for an extra challenge.

I hate speech in New Vegas, its stupidly op. Generally its guns/repair/lockpick.

I usually end up maxing out my speech/science/lockpick.

Its fun being able to choose the Speech dialogue option when talking to NPCs. So I just end up maxing out my Speech right away.

Science is just a filler to avoid quickly increasing my offense/Medicine skills.

Lockpick? Well, I love surprises...and looting.

I try not maximizing the offense skills because I love to struggle my way through hordes of raiders. I found that maxing out those stats tends to mold you into a "god" character capable of taking on an army of enemies without much difficulty. And for me, I prefer the uphill struggle when passing through the Mojave. It's just more interesting that way as it keeps me on my toes.

Medicine... With the FWE mod, I find that I really need it! It also saves a lot of more when you can maximize on the stimpacks. I also focus on Speech/Barter because it plays such an important role in the quests. After that I go and specialize in the weapon-type, I use in my play through.

Speech is the funniest of the all skills simply because of the hilarious responses that npc's give you when passing a speech check. Guns is self explanatory and medicine because healing is important in Fallout.

I go with Guns, Sneak, and Speech. Guns so I can use sniper rifles, Sneak is obvious, and Speech for the speech checks.
