Hello, Jack. What games do you enjoy modding and shooting for?

Hey Brigand
Fallout new Vegas its fun to fly around and take shots and mess with dof settings. seems i do it more often then actually playing recently.

I have a friend from another site who would load his game, go into TFC 1 and then do what he called "tourist mode" and went nuts just taking still shots of the world.

Ha cool that's pretty much what i do too, i have 1500 screens of new Vegas alone, they are probably taking up a lot of hard drive space. despite it being an old game on an even older engine i still think it can look beautiful. ENB helps too. i also spend way to much time in the GECK and fnvedit Merging and changing mods that i have yet to play with, its fun.

Sounds good. When I'm not playing I spend most of my time in FNVEdit tweaking or merging to make stuff happen the way I want it too.

Cool, By the way Thank you for your Caravan Office mod and maintaining CaliberX. Activating a Caliber quest and changing the ammo on a gun was my first time using the GECK. It helped me overcome the fear of braking my game.

Cool, glad to do it. That was some of the first scripting I learned too. After that it was simple perk list integration so I could "fix" the weapons for New Vegas Bounties in that regard (and passed it on for inclusion in the latest update). Oh, and copying and editing the commissary script from Lonesome Road so I could put one in the basement at Phoenix Point next to my Sierra Madre vending machine.

I never thought of using the commissaries for that, i just started buying ammo form vending machines so i will give that a try. its amazing how quickly it can progress after you get over that first bump. I spent yesterday looking at how Project Nevada uses scripted reloads for weapons and i got that new DKS-501 to use Proper hand grip animations with the sniper rifle reload. very cool seeing that work after some failures.

You're ahead of me, I never knew reloading uses scripts; I thought it was purely a function of the animations. Agreed though, once you get over the first hump the sky's the limit.

you are right reloading doesn't use scripts. its a script that attaches to the weapon so when you reload it plays an idle animation instead and the idle is just a reload animation placed in a different folder and renamed. its not with out its faults, you cant move diagonally when reloading for example but it works.
Sorry if i am being boring its just that i like to talk about modding, none of my friends play on PC so i don't get to talk about it much.
thanks

No complaints here, it's nice to chat with someone close to my own level so I'm not left in the dust.

Just my personal experience, your own mileage may vary... I've had fun creating stuff I would use (you could even say "need") for my own game and it turns out that other folks find that stuff useful too.
Time to be "that guy" though, there's probably an area where talking about modding is more on topic so I'll bow out for now and let you get back to your "Hello!" thread. Sorry about that.
