I've never had this problem until just recently New Vegas has started freezing on me. So far, the nly pattern I've noticed is that it happens when I'm in first-person mode with my gun out. It's happened during combat, it's happened while just casually having my gun out and it's happened when trying to switch from third person to first with my gun out.

My Load Order:

Check if the game freeze even without mods, do it on your current save (naturally do a backup of the modded one or you'll lose everything).
Also check the last mods you've installed and try to remember after which mod has begun to do so.

That's the thing, it ran without any problem, then I stopped playing for a while, came back and it started freezing. I uninstalled any new mods I installed after coming back (which was just the Storyteller companion) but that didn't make any difference.

My computer specs:

8GB RAM
AMD Quad-Core Processor
AMD Radeon 8750D Graphics
2TB HDD
Windows 8

Your computer specs are good and, honestly, I don't know where to head banging for your issue :/
Try to install the "4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated" or see if you can possibly clear some space on your pc.

I've already had the 4GB launcher for a while now.
