I also think the 'city feeling' was missing. New Vegas doesn't look like a city at all (for me at least), and thats what I liked from the images of Fallout 4.

You can pin that on the limitations of the Gamebryo engines, if you've seen concept art of New Vegas it really felt like a huge city. I feel like it still could of been a better city had Beth not give Obsedian the one year deadline

I have to agree with you on that one @Andrees92. New Vegas felt more like a small town rather than a city. North Vegas felt more populated and alive.
One thing about FONV that I really found irksome was that you were pretty much forced to go counter clockwise around the map. If you went north when you were starting out, if the Cazedors didn't get you then the Deathclaws would. Its understandable why they did that (you are after all supposed to be finding the ones who shot you) but it would have been nice if they had left a safe passage (geckos, etc) to where you could at least get to where the raiders are...

I mean the whole "sprawling cities" of 8 people can even be seen in Skyrim, Whiterun trading central of Skyrim? Of course only 8 people live there. The engine just can't handle that many people, but it looks like they improved that in 4.
I do agree about that, especially because a lot of quests around SW Mojave have these hidden dialogue options with perks you get a higher levels.

I wish there were simply more areas that were covered in tribals or raiders for engagements. It was particularly bad in New Vegas unless you were on a quest there was almost no serious action. I feel like I am constantly looking for more mods to give me a more dangerous wasteland. I wish they had more wondering patrols like in FarCry where when playing that game a lot of times danger finds you.

I wish there were as many random places in Fallout NV as there were in Fallout 3. I also wish that there was more on the strip because there is not a whole lot there.

Well there's actually a mod that adds factions going against each other so you'll have NCR vs Kahns or Legion vs. Vipers. There's another I saw that adds new gangs to the waste too and it was interesting.

360 movement would have been great. I'am always playing in 3rd person and only switch to 1st while going in to combat. I Like to run around in 3rd and take in the atmosphere and surrounding.

i wish new vegas had more large, epic battles. even during the battle of hoover damn, you only see a couple of NPC's running around shooting. if it was something like this, i would've been super happy.
this is from skyrim btw
edit: as the others have already stated, i wish the mojave wasteland had more people...because of as of now it seems really...empty. especially the strip and the freeside

I really do hope there's loads of side quests that aren't integrated into the story, I liked New Vegas for its open endedness but every faction had you doing the same quests for a different reason
Ahh the problem with that is that most rigs can't handle that without the framerate dropping, there's no where vanilla do that many people spawn, and once you get around that a lot of computers might start slowing down because of it but I definitely agree!

omg, i've always wanted this too! lets say you join NCR, you start out as a private and make your way up to a Lieutenant, Major or some other officer rank.

More casinos (much longer strip).. Actually the city of New Vegas should be much much much larger and spread out than it is in the game. The wasteland should be more radioactive and unforgiven (to show how House really spared the city from nuclear hell). More Legion quests. More sympathetic or grey areas when the Legion are concerned, maybe a proper Legion companion. More idol chatter between Companions. Like Boone and Cass would have unique dialogue with each other when together (sort of like Mass effect )

Yeah that would be awesome but it would also send my computer to hell (I'm talking specifically about the collosal battles). But more population certainly wouldn't hurt. It does get little lonely from time to time. When I first played FNV I expected that when I get to the actual Vegas that there would be such a large community of people that survived the nuclear war but...not so much.

Better animations and sounds for sure. The ones in vanilla are AWFUL. Like seriously, the reload sounds for some guns are just terrible. Animations have never been a good side of Bethbryo either so..

This was the actual case with Ulysses, he was supposed to be a Legion companion, he was even on the collectors edition card too.

New Vegas was terribly lacking in interiors. Most buildings were small and few. Everything else was a shack or underutilized sewer. I love the game and its overall mechanics and structure but too much of it seemed to be so out in the open that exploration felt a little monotonous.
