I agree. This is finally a step in the right direction for consoles. Lets just hope, for the sake of the gaming community as a whole, that it works out well. _________________ |

| I think its great that mods are coming to consoles. Also theyre saying that the mods will be completely free so its not a quick buck thing more Microsoft or anything unless they change their minds. |

| I'm just wondering how they're going to implement modding into consoles? Like are all mods are going to be available? Only approved mods for consoles? Or what?
I'm not looking forward to it, they'll probably going to take the feature off because it might get too crazy in the future.

| You'll get the mods from Bethesda Net when it launches. Mod support won't be from the get go.
I don't think it's a question of if it's a good idea. I think it's a fantastic idea. It gives people who only play or who are limited to playing on consoles a taste of what PC gamers have had for a while. What I'm concerned about is mods that alter visuals, like graphics, and things like ENB settings. Any improvement is bound to make consoles perform slower.
Or rather, any improvement that increases GPU/RAM usage. |

| While I would love for console-players to get the same sort of content PC gamers do, I'm worried about it having more bugs than a Motel 6 in Vegas. Bethesda has an earned reputation for less than stellar coding when it comes to such things. _________________ "They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. Or rather, any improvement that increases GPU/RAM usage. Consolers don't care about having all the 4k textures and upgraded hardware. The whole point of the consoles are to give base gaming machines to people that just want to play the game. So I don't see a majority of people even downloading many EMBs or Graphical Enhancers. I however do see them downloading texture packs just to get a different look from the game. I also see them getting things like UI mods or Patches.... and of course general content. So, I don't see the "Xboxes have inferior hardware coming into play much at all. - Gyrard wrote:

Well with this new "console modding" the console community can download unofficial patches. _________________ |

Aye, you're right. That's kind of the catch 22 with open-world games, there's so much more potential for bugs and glitches (and for them to be overlooked, or difficult to reproduce even when they're reported). However amazing it looks, I doubt Fallout 4 will break that trend. - blaze1514 wrote:

Without meaning to single out your post, none of us are in a position to announce what a group of people as gigantic or diverse as console gamers does or does not care about as decisively as that. Because while some console gamers may not care, there are plenty who have proven that they do. I personally know many people who base their console choice on which offers the best graphics/FPS, and millions of people immediately upgrade to 'next gen' consoles when they are released because of the increase in graphical fidelity. Furthermore if console gamers didn't care about that kind of thing, there wouldn't be this ridiculous '1080p' fanboy war between PS4 gamers and fans of XB1. Its a very real thing, even if you don't 'see' it.

| I think it's great that mods are finally coming to consoles because when I had Fallout 3 on the PS3, the one thing that I wanted most was to be able to play with mods. This is actually one of the many reasons that I went to gaming on a computer. Console-players will definitely have a great and new experience with the game. |

| I don't really understand how it'll work?
I know nothing about Modding, but couldn't potentially broken/buggy mods just break/mess up your console? _________________ - My YouTube - |

| You are so right about your latest post @Tesvixen! I keep hearing about that crap all the time when it comes to console wars now anyway back to the topic at hand. I think modding on the console will be extremely limited as they can't handle everything such as extremely high resolution textures without a decrease in performance unlike a pc it's possible to have all of the settings to max without a single decrease in performance depending on your build. |

Its a very real thing, even if you don't 'see' it. Well, maybe what I said was a little narrow. I just think if someone cares that much about their 4k textures, they should be playing on a computer... Since that is the only way you can truly have the best graphics (I am not saying this as a bash against consoles... I myself am more of a console gamer than a PC one). - Player147proman wrote:

I would only agree to this notion on extreme cases. I say let them have all the mods they want, even if some decrease the performance of the console. I would only advocate filtering of the mods the system just cannot handle. However Todd Howard stated that they only planed to remove mods that were "Illegal" (giving examples of someone porting Master Chief armor) and "nude skins/porn mods" The former I can totally understand since the consoles are always surrounded in useless legal red tape. However the second could be done in a way that would avoid ESRB intervention. Getting to the point... From the way he was talking, it didn't sound like Bethesda planned to filter based off of performance. _________________ |

| It sounds like Bethesda is adapting a Laissez-faire attitude towards modding - if your game breaks, that's on you.

| Okay I like how I look through this form for 5 seconds and there is already people complaining. I think of it as a good thing for people who have computers that cant handle the game (like me ) and if they have an xbox one (maybe ps4 if bethesda figures it out) then they have nothing to worry about |

| Its a good thing that now consoles might benefits from mods at least the basic stuff like adding new quests / maps / weapons not the complicated ones that need additional libraries or things like that. |

| haha yeah im just curious of how mods that have bugs will affect the game. Like mods that leave info in your game data....I guess you'd have to re-install the game like in really bad cases on the computer? I have just had some weird stuff happen to the game files from some mods and it might be harder to detect or look through on consoles since you dont have full access to the subfolders and files... _________________ |

| Im very curious as to how this will workout. Not every console gamer understands the science behind mods like load order conflicts and over writing. Im assuming mods that are supported by bethesda will only appear on bethesda.net. Compared to the Nexus which has a free reign on mods. None the less Im very excited the modding in general is catching on everywhere and I think game developers are beginning to see its one of the easiest ways to increase self life for their game. |

| A good reason to stay in console meanwhile i get a decent PC, but i think mods may be unstable on consoles or cause a lot of issues _________________ |

| I'm glad consoles are gonna be able to get mods! Now my brother can feel the power of them! But they probably won't have mods like the script extenders unless they made it with the game or something like that. Otherwise, I'm happy. _________________ |
