Sorry if these screens look terrible. My LCD gave up on me today and I currently have my rig connected to my plasma till I buy a new LCD monitor. And everything is huge... 1360x768. miss my 1920x1080 res
Anyways...
My goal is to add glow effect to the headmesh of the Daught of Ares to stand out a bit more. I plan to do the same for the hands, but haven't gotten to it, yet.
I've already made the glow map for it.
- Spoiler:
I'm following these tutorials on glow map (mainly the first link).
http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_add_glow_maps
http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Glowmaps_101
First link I followed word for word, but it seems to leave out some info. So it seems that tutorial is for semi experienced users.
Here's what I've set in nifskope according to the tutorial.
Emissive Color = White
Emit Multi = 1.0000 (default)
Shader Type = SHADER_SKIN (default)
Shaders Flag = SF_Glow_Map
(Not listed)- Spoiler:
According to this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/553544-adding-glow-maps-in-nifskope/ I checked out in nifskope and notice that this mesh does not have SF_Glow_Map listed in nifskope under Shaders Flag and for Shader Type it's SHADER_SKIN, and it says to set it to 2. I don't know if these settings work the same for weapons, armor etc...
So, I have a couple questions to anyone with experience on this.
Q: Glow maps are not supposed to have minmaps are they? the tutorial shows him saving the _g with no generate minmaps. I would think it does need minmaps.
Q: This one is silly and I assume no but, would I have to create a mesh under/inside the headmesh and apply the glow there?
I'm completely new to texturing and this is the second texture project I'm working on, so I'm trying to figure out how this glow map thing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
