| Hey guys, so I just wanted your opinion on using vehicle mods in the wasteland, do you guys think it is lore friendly or lore breaking? And if you do use a vehicle mod, which one is your favorite? |

| I think it's lore friendly, at least a few people are bound to scavenge the right parts to get a car or motorcycle in a working form again imo. I prefer just about anything over fast traveling as that tends to be immersion breaking for me. _________________ |

| Yea i agree with Sinister. I would also like to find a mod that adds random broken down vehicles to the waste. Im tired of seeing the same cars over and over, adding some unusable military Humvees or other helicopters with loot would be nice. |

It's 100% lore friendly. Even more - vehicles are part of the fallout lore. The problem is - Bethesda decided that vehicles will break the immersion, Fallout maps are small, there's not enough space to ride a car or bike, yada yada yada. |

| I think that it's completely lore friendly. However, the car shop added into XRE is a little bit to far in my opinion. |

| I had never played fallout 1 and 2, thanks for the insight! I knew that some vehicles still worked, vertibitds for example, good to know that I can use my motorcycle mod without it feeling to weird. Thanks. Do you guys use vehicle mods personally? |

| I've used good old bike and hoverchair. Played some time with XRE but it's a crappy mod. |

| In Tactics the Brotherhood used Hummers, I have no idea if this is canon or not but hell, If they could rebuild a pre war killer robot and learn how to repair and pilot Vertibirds then anything is possible. |

| Honestly, i think the reason we don't see vehicles in FO3 + FONV, is the fact maps are too small. We'd be reaching all the borders in like 5 minutes. It's saddening to say the least, but an acceptable loss. _________________ Give me Talos, Or give me Sovngarde!

| @Ulfr1c I never reached borders using bike or hoverchair in 5 minutes) Ofc, it's not the GTA V map size, but it's still pretty huge to keep you rollin' for some time |

| Yeah as previously said fallout 1 and 2 had vehicles as well as tactics. Also vertibirds from Enclave and Brotherhood. They should have been included from Bethsda. I've used XRE mod and like having drivable vehicles to improve the game. _________________ |

| I did use a car mod during one of my playthroughs of Fallout 3, but I got tired of it as the capitol wasteland wasn't exactly designed to be driven around in, and I kept crashing into things. New Vegas I'm steering clear of them. |

| I don't believe XRE Cars is really lore friendly, I doubt refueling stations would be around when most cars would be nuclear powered before the bombs dropped. XRE Vertibird should be lore friendly, since NCR Vertibird pilots are mentioned by some NPCs. |

| Not exactly lore-breaking but it takes away the fun of accidentally stumbling into a Deathclaw nest

you do know in the 2nd fallout game you could get a car. and in game fallout Tactics you could drive a BOS Humvee even a WW2 Sherman Tank so theres no Lore breaking or anything having vehicles drivable _________________ - My Achievements:

| I don't feel that cars are lore breaking because there should be enough spare parts lying around in abandoned warehouses/scrap yards that could be used to fix up some of the damaged cars to some form of working order.
And on a mod note if you're looking for an alternative to fast travel, try out The Mobile Truck Base mod. I find this mod is a good non-immersion breaking method of fast travel which involves you having to scavenge fuel for it's use. (For example: 10 flamer fuel to go from Novac to Goodsprings but not sure if further places you go to cost larger amounts of fuel.) |
