This is the true story of the delected mission about Lone wolf Radio near Goodsprings. I did not write the text, I found it on a site. It 'a chilling story that has always intrigued me.
The Lone Wolf Radio shack in Fallout New Vegas appears abandoned, but that was not always the case. Originally, it was planned to be the home of the Lone Wolf, a character far more sadistic and depraved then any before featured in the Fallout franchise.
He was planned to host The Lone Wolf Radio Station, which would feature insane ramblings and rants at unpredictable intervals through out the day, until 11 pm when the station would go quiet. The Lone Wolf would return at 3 am, with a child. A different child was featured every night, because The Lone Wolf would announce on air every night, "Everyone is gone. You are all alone. Let it all end." before viciously murdering them live on the station.
Listening to the broadcast at 3 am would initiate a quest, Little Dead Riding Hood. In which the Courier has to track down the Wolf and kill him or join him in murdering a child, resulting in a perk that allows the player to kill other in game children. Accessing the child murder option was suppose to be very difficult to achieve.
The character, quest, and perk were ultimately scrapped due to their shocking nature plus the sheer effort required to record a unique murder for every night until the quest is complete. However, somewhere in Obisidian's archives there exists recordings made for The Lone Wolf Radio Station, including simulated child murders, never to be released. All that remains in the final game is a small abandoned shack and small clues hidden throughout the Mojave.

Don't know if you're pulling a joke, but if this was actually real. After killing the Lone Wolf, I would have disabled what's left of him including the shack. Then walk off into the sunset tricking myself into thinking I burned it all down. The child I save, he'd be teleported to Mick & Ralphs!
Bethesda's reason for avoiding the killing of children in Fallout 3: "This is a series that in previous installments allowed players to kill children, right? When Bethesda first started developing Fallout 3, we had early conversations about whether you’re going to be able to blow the kids’ heads off, but then we began to think, really what benefit would there be in killing the kids in the game? It just seems gratuitous, unnecessary and cruel."
Fallout wiki's story: Location designer Dini McMurry commented on the inspiration for this location, saying, "The inspiration for it came from when I was at the University of Oregon, every Saturday there was a guy who stood on a corner of the campus where everyone walked by. He had a personal microphone and speaker and would just babble on and on about one government conspiracy theory or the other. The radio shack was what I imagined he would have put together if he upgraded from travel speaker to pirate radio."
Not even Rockstar allows it.

A very disturbing quest indeed. I actually feel that if they had removed the child killing part and just made it a disturbing radio broadcast it would of been a very cool thing to discover in game. thanks for sharing

Yeah, and even if it isn't in the GECK, maybe some talented individual could make it a quest mod. Would be a cool thing to see.

If this story is true, then I feel kinda bad for making the lone wolf radio shack my home :/. But I would love to have this quest, because I would be happy to rid the world of another bad guy. I mean, I get to save a child! I'd pretend to go along with the murderer, but then at the last moment turn around and shank the bastard. Hopefully someone will make a mod for this quest so I get to save children!

They would never release something like this. Same reason they wont release detailed sex in the game. XD
To frowned upon, Parents wont buy there children the game if they found out it had Child Murdering and Sexual Detailed content. (Same reason kids are unkillable in like every Bethesda game <_< )
On the other hand, if there was a detailed DLC type mod for this. id love it, not the murdering part cause i wouldn't listen to it XD But yea
as NeatlyResolved said, I would be happy to ride the world of another bad guy.

I think the child murder element is a step too far, let's get that right out of the way first.
However, this is a game that features crucifixion, implied rape, torture, slavery and dismemberment/exploding limbs and so on. It is NOT a game for kids, hence the ESRB rating it got here in the States of M...which means +17 users. Now, I'm not going to sit here and say that this quest should have been included, but a toned down version of it could have been included. Replace murder with slavery or something...and have the radio broadcasts at 3 AM be an auction of sorts, where the pedo-napper sells the kids off for food to the White Gloves, Raiders, Legion or whomever else is out there. Obviously, the Courier is able to save the kids before anything horrible actually happens.
With all that being said, I'm glad this quest wasn't included in the game. It would have been far too dark of a twist in an already twisted world. The cannibal casino and the Legion do a good enough job of being morally reprehensible without needing to add more sadism to the game.
Just my opinion.

I would not mind if a quest like this would be made just to be able to kill the lone wolf. In New Vegas Bounties 2 There is a quest with a killer clown that lures in kids and eats them. I enjoyed killing Uncle Chuckles so much. In a savage world like Fallout the world is a dark place. My character enjoys killing bad people.

It's a decent quest idea, but...I dunno, it seems far too complex and time-consuming for it to ever get into implementation given Obsidian's tight time-table regarding the game's development. They only had 13 months, and 3 were pre-production and learning the engine.

I've heard several different versions of this story, including this one, as to why the lone wolf radio station existed. It's kind of hard to tell which one is actually true, especially since this one seems like something you'd read on creepypasta. It would make an amazingly dark mod though.

I found some information about the place on the fallout wiki, here we go!

Wow! I don't know if this is real or not but if it is then I wish it had made it into the game, would have made for a chilling quest. Sounds like a great mod idea though!

well there is already the mod for the killing of children, all we need now is someone to make the quest.

I highly doubt this is real reads too much like a creepypasta as stated before, that being said it would make for a great quest mod if you got good voice actors and modders.
Edit Update: And it is a creepypasta
