| It's something I've been sort of thinking about for awhile now, and after playing Republic Commando and watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it's something I'm kind of conflicted on.
Which is better, a Republic Commando or an ARC Trooper?
RC's have an epic theme, a neat weapons system, slick-looking armor, and a video game dedicated to them, but their Deeces have weak damage in comparison to ARC Trooper weaponry or even the standard rifles and carbines used by frontline clone troopers; that, and despite the fact that their armor has shielding, the shields go out nearly instantly.
ARC Troopers in The Clone Wars have surprisingly high-powered weaponry compared to the commando units, and overall they seem like more athletic and agile soldiers with more powerful rifles and pistols.
So which one is the superior soldier? |

| good question...
well i would say, it depends on the training and on the type of clone we are speaking from. there are several types of clones...
type a arc clones where the first version of the jango fett clones, which are highly intelligent, but also they do think independed like jango fett and they are hard to be control. only kal skirata was able to raise and to training them to be a arc trooper. those skirata arcs are highly intelligent, crazy but loyal to all who they trust.
the type b arc troopers are the second generation of clone arc troopers. like the type a arcs they are very intelligent but they can be better controled.
both arc types using standard clone trooper armors ( phase 1 and 2 ).
then we have the clone commandos...
clone commandos are geneticly enhanced, taller then normal clones, and like the type a arc they think independ with no limititations of their creativity which is needed becaus commandos are operating very often behind enemy lines. they use a kartan armor which is superior to the standart clone trooper armors. the kartan armor can withstand detonations and blaster fire. only a direct hit from a blaster canon can hit through the armor. also the armor can be used in space. the commandos use also modulate weaponry, within seconds their blaster can be changed into a sniper rifle or a grenade launcher.
all in all i would say the commando is superrior to the arc b type clone but equal to the type a arc trooper. _________________ I am not modding for fallout 4, but if someone like to port my mods to fO4, please feel free to do it. Just give proper credits. thank you |

| I'd just want to say this from a competitive mind set, there are people who do what they are told because they have to, and that is it, besides simple survival they usually don't have a drive to do extra work and give every ounce that they to complete a goal. But, if you freely choose to give something your all, and I mean as in you do not go to sleep without thinking of accomplishing your goal and you do every bit of work required and even more extra. There is no comparison between the two type of people, and that is why free will is a lot more than just the ability to say yes or no. _________________ R1NR - Spoiler:

| ARC's are base troopers enhanced to be more deadly and smart and versatile while RC's are plain and simple born and bred and trained to be pure killers to the core even when outmatched 1 to 20 they still can just mash up the place with their skill and equipment.Example Gregor in the clone wars animated series just ripped a platoon or 2 of battle droids and droidekas before commiting suicide by blowing the tibanna tanks to save the strike team of droids and the funny small alien general leading them. ARCs on the other hand are deadly 2 being able to fend of grevius long enough for the wounded jedi he had cornered on a planet (i forgot the name sry also the given situation happened in the 2003 cartoon star wars the clone wars)but they had the support of a loaded to the brim gunship and a cadre of clone troopers plus aditional ARC heavy gunner support with a quad canon mounted on the chest plate and at least a squad and a half of ARC regulars and arc chaingunners.RC's are operating in 4 man teams 1 sniper 1 demo 1 slicer and a squad leader (usualy a captain NOTE:im making squad composition on a basis of the Republic commando game)And carry some aditional gear based on the mission like armor piercing demo rounds for their armor atachments to the DC-17 or like a ton of explosives with high punch power.Plus their armor is shielded and they have reviving tools like defibrilators not to mention the toughnes of their Katarn armor that even without shields can take a wokiee rocket launcher rocket or 2 to the face and still able to fight and repel the enemy. So lets pit a regular arc trooper vs a standard armed clone commando(assault config for both of them) THE RC IS ARMED: DC-17 WITH 300 ROUNDS WORTH OF AMMO 5 THERMAL DETS 5 FLASHBANGS 5 SONIC DETS 5 EMP DETS AN ANTI-ARMRO ATACHMENT AND A BACKUP SIDERARM PLUS A GAUNTLET CONSEALED VIBROBLADE THAT CAN SPRING ON A WHIM AND STAB SOMEONES THROAT(THAT IS NOT EVEN THE FULL ARSENAL THEY USUALY CARRY AROUND NOT TO MENTION THE BACKPACK THAT IS FULL OF SUPPLIES AND THE ARMOR MOUNTED STUFF LIKE ADDITIONAL ROUNDS AND STUFF). THE ARC IS ARMED: A WESTAR M5 RIFLE (STANDAR ISSUE FOR ALL ARCS) A BACKUP DC-17 PISTOL ADITIONAL ROUNDS AND A LARGE NUMBER OF GRENADES (CANT SAY FOR SURE HOW MUCH THEY CARRY)PLUS AN ELECTROBINOCULARS AND SOME OTHER ACCESORIES LIKE A VIBROKNIFE OR AN ELECTROSHOCK GAUNTLET AND A JAMMER MOUNTED ON THER WRISTS.OH YEAH AND A RANGE FINDER WICH IS COMMON FOR ARC TROOPERS AND A SURVEY DRONE WICH CAN RELAY THE SURROUNDINGS AND DATA AFFILTRATED TO SURROUNDINGS DIRECTLY TO THEIR HUD WITHOUT STATIC.i introduced the loadout's here i think would work out in a assault or a full frontall between teh 2 sides.Im letting u guys decide the battlefield fighting and outcome.I personaly think the arc trooper has a 35 % vs 65% for the RC because of the supperior training and equipment they receive compared to arc troopers. The balance may shift depending on the battlefield u choose (the battlefield should be an assault or full frontall area like the beach of kashyyk in Ep 3)and the tactics the 2 sides will employ.but i will leave that to u guys to decide have fun making out the battle _________________ I usualy just go in shooting and let someone else sift through the ashes to figure what whas going on. |

| Clone commando's are more like tanks while the Arc Trooper is probably well suited to maneuver better. However I think because of the clone commando's armor and ability to take heavy hits, the clone commando would be the better choice. _________________ |

| There is a quote that goes: "On the off chance that you require work done, you can send one ARC Trooper, 100 Clone Troopers, or 4 Clone Commandos."
That essentially entirely ties it up. I assume similarly as inclination goes, its whether you like 100 anonymous troopers, 4 first class 'war-specialists', or one expert ridiculous badass? _________________ The Alien in the Community

| i always thought arc troopers were more better because wasnt some taught by jango fett himself ect, plus isnt commandos more behind enemie lines kinda troopers doing sabotage missions ect were as a arc is a commander of of each battalions that leads them into battle. Also hence why commandos have better gear than arc because the jobs they gotta do but hey might be wrong _________________ there's only one true love you find it? make sure you do everything in your power not too lose it |

| Commandos op in fours and were made as specs to the clone army but Arc Troopers were made to kill jedi in that since I think the Arcs are a bit over powered compared to the clone commandos
But still my heart goes out to them considering we got a close look at their exploits |

| I would go with the commandos. Operating in teams of four is less of a liability. If one squad member is down the objective can still be completed. I like the ARCs too however I believe that the commandos are a better choice and have some awesome armor to complement them. Either way both options are a force to be reckoned with. _________________ |

| Straight one-on-one fight I'm not quite sure. If it was one of the "Alpha ARCS" then probably them. However, if it was one of the troopers later trained to be an ARC, I lean more towards the Commando, I think. That's not even mentioning the Null ARC's, like Ordo and Mereel, etc. Those guys are just nuts (and would probably turn the commando into chop suey). So, overall, I'll say in a one-on-one, the ARC. One ARC versus the a commando squad though, I'll go with commando. (Again, as long as we're not talking about the Null ARC's) |

| I feel that battle hardened commandos, like Delta or Omega squads, would flatten most Alpha pattern or cross trained ARC troopers. The Nulls, with their tendency to use unorthodox or unconventional kit, would probably flatten most commandos with little hassle. As commandos are trained in squads of four, usually from decanting, they probably have an edge up over a lone or paired ARC trooper, as evidenced when Atin and Darman took down A-30 on Gaftikar.
One on one is a bit more difficult.
ARC trooper armor is evidently simply an upgraded suit of trooper armor that contains more reconnaissance bits, and is reinforced to stand the rigors of battle. Commando armor, on the other hand, contains some kind of low power shield emitter, as shown in the Republic Commando game, and is designed to hold up to everything up to the light cannons found on combat capable speeders.
Weapon wise, the Westar M5 is a fairly utilitarian assault rifle capable of automatic fire, and they're backed up with a similar handgun to the commando units. They also carry grenades and scanning equipment to better reconnoiter the field. The DC-17, by comparison, is similar to the real world SOPMOD kits issued for M4 pattern weapons, as it can be configured to nearly any role by replacing the barrel and magazine. The DC sidearm that commandos carry is also fairly powerful, probably because they need a backup weapon almost as deadly as their primary weapons.
I'd give a hypothetical battle to a commando squad over a team of ARC troopers, and a one on one match would come close to a draw. _________________ We have arrived, and it is now that we perform our charge. | I'd toss my vote for Commandos. They really are badass. They have an assault rifle that can morph into a sniper and a grenade launcher. They have far superior suits. Their armor can take a lot more damage and even has a shield system and extra visor sensors. They were trained to work as a squad in perfect unison. A squad of Commandos against a platoon of ARCs? I'd have to say Commando.
People are saying ARCs would win, but Grievous ran away from your squad in RC. Grievous. The guy who can kill multiple Jedi by himself runs away from the commandos.
Also, people are saying their blasters are weaker, but I think that was just for gameplay purposes. Would RC really have been fun if all the enemies could be killed in one shot? I think they just beefed up the enemies so the game would have a challenge. |

| While the clone commandos were generally acknowledged as a superior breed compared to the majority of the standard-issued clone troopers, the only clones in the Grand Army that superseded the commandos in skill and reputation were the ARC troopers. Though the Null-class ARCs were still regarded as anti-authoritative and problematic, they were useful as intelligence operatives. The more well-known Alpha-class ARC troopers, trained by the hand of Jango Fett himself, were acknowledged as the absolute best and most elite force that the Grand Army of the Republic had to offer. Their reputation was so renown amongst the clones that not even the commandos challenged the superiority of the ARC troopers. Omega Squad felt a mixture of respect, awe and fear in regards to the ARCs. RC-1136 admitted that the ARC troopers were the only people on the Republic's side that he feared; RC-3222 regarded the ARC troopers as the clones that were closest to emulating Jango Fett in skill and personality, describing them as "pretty well raw Jango." |

| Depends on numbers, gear and stage of the clones. But if you take 100 A.R.C. troupers and 100 CC, ARC's would probably win because A.R.C's are trained as and are Mandalorians, Commandoes might have tougher armor but out of that 100 ARC's at least half are carrying some form of heavy weapon. It might be Z6, or a rocket launcher, or that quad chain gun they carry sometimes _________________ In the blood-soaked Sabbat Worlds Crusade, the massed ranks of the Imperium battle the dark forces of Chaos for dominion. | Actually I like the arc armor,it is like 1 and 2 phase in one,but we don't seen them as lot as commandos, but I think commando better in weapon, because their riffle is universal,so I think the commando is better. |
