| As the title asks, I’m curious what Star Wars era you guys would choose to live in.
For me, I’d have to pick the old republic era. The reason is that the time period, while filled with numerous conflicts, seemed to offer in my opinion better environment for personal freedoms. For example, if someone is force sensitive during the prequel trilogy era, the Jedis would be poking their noses around and be all up in their business. If that person were to use powers that could be considered “dark side”, odds are things wouldn’t turn out well for them.
Contrast that with the old republic era. If someone is force sensitive and learns some “dark side” powers I feel like it wouldn’t be that big of a deal unless they started doing evil things with those abilities. The old republic era is filled with force users, many who align themselves with Jedi or sith, though not all, as some were independent of both factions. I just don’t think that kind of choice would be tolerated in the later eras.
I’m curious to hear what you guys think! |

| I would prefer to live in the era of the Phantom Menace. Not because i liked the movie (I didn't), but it was happier times for the Jedi. Heck perhaps i could have been born with force powers. This was prior to the eradication of the Jedi so it seams more fun to me. I am enjoying the new movies and i wouldn't mind living than either. I definitely don't want to live on Tatooine. I'd like to live on Coursecont <--spelling.. Mainly because it is a huge city and i imagine it would have good education and a lot of fun things to do, plus nice living spaces. | This is something I've thought about recently (watching the Clone wars series again), and I would have to say i'd rather live in the Clone Wars era. There was too much at stake for the galaxy during the Clone Wars and I'd love to see what would transpire if I were to work to uncover Palpatine and his plans. _________________ "Greetings Outlander!" |

| For me, it'd have to be the Galactic Empire era, but before the Rebel Uprising, I would like to rise up in the Stormtrooper ranks so I can fight those nasties later down the road and then when the Empire starts to lose, I'd fight for the rebels. Boom! Done, I'd be like that pilot chick from SWBFII's Campaign, switching sides and giving valuable intel. _________________ " Life is a beautiful and awesome process, awe-inspiring exchange of living things working together or against each other for each their own purposes." -Me, Matthew. |

| I'd prefer the Republic days. Sure, it's flawed with the senate, but it's the most peaceful and prosperous. Everyone had a chance at a good life really. Everyone was free as slavery was illegal. All slaverly happened outside the Republic. Also, Jedi would pop in from time to time and usually bring justice and peace to any conflict they came across. Life was just overall better for the average joe during that time.
The other two eras had other threats. With the GCW, you had the constant oppression of the Empire. If you were an alien species, then you got even harsher treatments. If you were a wookie? Off to the labor camps. Plus, they had Vader and other sith-like individuals. Look at them wrong as they visit your planet and you could end up dead.
After the GCW it got a little worse. The FO is arguably more ruthless and would kill you without hesitation if you didn't openly support them. The new Republic was also more ignorant than the last one and seemed to let so much slip by. At least the last one had the excuse of Palpatine manipulating them.
If we bring in the KOTOR era, then that's just one giant living hell as it's just non-stop wars between Siths and Jedi where everyone is caught in the cross-fire.
So classic republic for me.
....Unless we're talking Legends after the GCW. Then I'd pick that. |

| Which era you say. Well, it would definitely be the Rise of the Sith era during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. I won't be a Jedi, and even I do become - I'm not one to follow rules and live a monastic life so I reckon I would be either cast out or exile myself before a decade is past. So I'd rather be a Captain or an Admiral of the Republic fleet, following orders - but not to a full extent.
However, if you say that I get certain 'insights' from the Will of the Force about certain.....ahem....events to come. It would be a perfect time to seize control of the Senate and slowly transform the Republic to an Empire. It's true that the Empire was feared and hated but that was because of what Palpatine reigned it to be, but one also cannot forget that the Republic also have their own flaws and corruption.
So I digress, an Empire would be the best outcome for the galaxy, an Empire that recruits all races and lifeforms, an Empire that would truly bring peace, justice and security.

| I'd go Empire and hope I was stationed on the first Death Star, I'd warn my superiors ahead of time about the weakness and the location of the Rebel base. Then I could be a bit more lax, enjoying my officer promotion. _________________ True to Caesar! https://discord.gg/VAbpk9M Caesar's Will is the Will of the Legion |

You wouldn’t be worried about the lifespan as a Jedi give what happens later on? - guan12 wrote:

| I'd choose to live after the destruction of the first death star. I could live life normally as a civilian, or I could either join the rebels/empire. _________________ |

| @"Calder_Wren" I didn't think about that portion of thought.I think i would like to have force powers, live longer, but not be a Jedi or a sith. Just a normal(ish) dude living amongst the space muggles as a secret superior. Perhaps open a bar and just people watch. Maybe the occasional space fantasy of action adventure and excitement, everything Yoda speaks against aside from like killing people, that is where i would draw the line.. So like Han Solo with hidden Jedi powers. Yup.. _________________ Specs: Intel i7 6700k @4.9Ghz - ASUS Z170 Sabertooth S MB w/:EK-FB ASUS Z170S Monoblock - ASUS GTX 1080 @2085Mhz w/:EK FC 1080 GTX Block & EK Nickle Backplate - 16Gb Crucial Ballistix Elite Series DDR4 RAM - Samsung 500Gb V-NAND 850 EVO SSD - Western Digital 4Tb Black Edition Hdd - Seasonic 750w SnowSilent 80PlusPlatinum PSU - EK 480mm Radiator - Thermaltake PR-22 D5 Reservoir/Pump - NZXT HUE+Lighting System - 4x NZXT AER RGB 120mm Fans - Thermaltake Core P5 Tempered Glass Edition Case

| Galactic Empire era it would be fun to body entire imperial camps and military outposts with friends and afterwords keep all of their gear and leave nothing but body parts, burned corpses and armour bits of stormtroopers and other imperial soldiers and some times maybe even civilians it would be nice. _________________ "Human Scum!" |

| The Times of The Old Republic. The time of Reven and Malak. You still have Mandalorians like Candoras Ordo. It is a important time in the Jedi history. _________________ |

| Totally seconding/thirding/whatever-ing any Galactic Empire/Classic era sentiments.
The galaxy is, for the most part, enjoying a well-earned peace after the Clone Wars, thanks largely in part to our glorious Emperor, long may he reign! For all the faults and flaws of a largely Humanocentric Empire (Sucks to be an alien, but still... what can you do?), they did enforce (oft-times with an emphasis on force, I'll admit), the aforementioned peace. Which is rather novel for most timelines! Hells, if I recall correctly, it was the strength and unification of the Empire that ensured the Yuuzhan Vong didn't invade earlier than they did?
Bitchin' uniforms, too. |

| @Calder_Wren I'd prefer to live earlier, in Nomi Sunrider's time, when there were so many jedis. Why ? In SwKotor, everything is there, Korriban, the Sith accademia, the valley of black lords, Kashyykk, the terentateks, Onderon, Yavin4 with its massassi temples, the moon of dxun and the tomb of Freedon Nadd, etc.. All of this was contained in Swkotor, but I wish there was more adventures related to deep missions in the galaxy, travelling between several systems, well a Fallout 3 but with Star wars would be amazing ! |

| Honestly I would of loved to train under Ajunta Pall. He was one of the first...if not the actual first of the dark lords. The time revolves around the 100 years of Darkness during the birth of some of the first Sith. Most of the knowledge from the first Sith was lost in time until the Sith started archaeological digs during the Old Republic. Either way, Ajunta Pall's story is something else! _________________ Your all around music junkie and guide to great music. |

| @x1VASH1x true Boris, an interresting era too, here is a link to the dark lords of the old sith empire, the page is in french, click on a dark lord and once on the new page, scroll to the bottom and choose your language. I forgot also the tomb of Ajunta Pal in the dark lords valley, we loot his double bladed sword in Skotor but it seems to have no particular power, it's a pitty. |
