What you should know:

A. We've earned the domain name, not by paying for it, but for being an exceptional community!
Forumotion provided it as a gift!

B. We've rebranded ourselves from the VGU title because of a sum of circumstances beyond our control.
The spirit and the purpose of this community will remain the same!

C. This is a positive change because we will flourish anew under a fresh banner,
with lessons learned and experience gained under the old one.

D. Instead of "VGUnians", you will henceforth be known as:
GUNners GUNslingers and/or simply GUNs

E. We have a ton of improvements to the site
all of which will enhance your modding and networking experience!
Those improvements are:

1. Overhauled Chatbox with the following features:
- auto login with a toggle feature (on or off)
- new message sounds, highly customizable, with toggle
- archives open in new tab
- visual notifications for new messages
(the tab's title will change repeatedly)
Thanks to Forumotion's devs for the features, and @Drusvak's excellent scripting skills for merging and optimizing the settings,
as well as making them user-customizable and toggle-able  

2. Automatic word counter in every post.
This will not allow users to make a post
unless they've used a minimum number of words (4).

3. Auto-Private Message for members when their post gets edited.
This way, when a staff member fixes their post after breaking a rule, or warns them about something, they won't say "oh I didn't know" anymore, because they'll be notified of it in their inbox. Also, staff won't be able to sneak-edit anyone's posts without them knowing about it (not that it ever happened )

4. Category Toggle - so that you can minimize an entire forum category from the main page

5. GTA sections are Merged into a GTA franchise category

6. Borderlands subforum has been created underneath More Video Games category:

7. Fan Fiction subforum has been created inside Fallout Discussion

8. A disclaimer for the trading subforum (Gamer's Market) has been created and stickified

9. Graphical Enhancements: The background image will be changed to a rotation of 3 seamless patterns. Color theme will remain largely the same, but other graphical improvements will be added in a short while. Some of the banners will be edited to include the new name of the site. All of the old ones will be discarded, but new submissions are expected starting now!

10. Message Draft Functionality so that you can save your progress while typing a post or message.

11. Scroll Up button on every page, so you can quickly zoom back to the top of the page.

All these changes will take a while to be implemented, and there might be some errors connecting. But fear not, the site will not go down. After about 3 days of processing, all the old links and old topics will safely redirect to the new domain.

Urgh! I've just realised. Being 'Gunners' makes us all Arsenal supporters.

We should make something to celebrate this is a great thing to have reached this level

Im going to love the new comers who are going to be like "This isn't a Gun forum?! What gives?"   But on a serious note awesome to see the our new beginnings and can't to see what the future holds for us and all the new Husbandos we'll meet.

Not going to lie when  I first opened a tab for the site to see GUN and all the other changes I wasn't sure if something happened to my bookmarks.

Anyhow really great to see our community grow and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Holy Site Rebranding Batman!

I'm really impressed and proud of where the community has come from. Not gonna lie, when I first came here after the original VGU shutdown the place was dead and I thought "Well, I guess that the end of that."

Very happy to say that I've been proven wrong and I'm proud to be a member of the community.

Well, sounds great, especially site improvements that make it much more comfortable. And yep, new site name sounds cool.

I'm a gunner ma! I finally did it! *Sobbing* I finally did it!

This is amazing news. I'm glad to see the community being recognized. I look forward to what the future holds for the GUNslingers and our home here.

I like it but I refuse to not put a V in the url bar when I need to get here fast!
