So Im just putting my thoughts out there and also asking a question. i think it would be really cool to actually join the ncr as a soldier and be able to go through ranks and what not and maybe be added to special forces like 1st recon and all that. And maybe even when you join have to go through boot camp and training and all that. I was just wondering if there is a mod like this out there or if any one would be interested in having a quest/faction type of mod like this where you go through training then get assignments rise through the ranks and all that. Hell maybe even if you do somthing wrong put you on shit duty like gaurd duty or cleaning out the outhouse or shit like that lol. But what do yall think of that. If i had any sort of modding/computer skills Id defanitly make this but I dont but Id defanitly be willing to help and learn if someone wants to make this a mod or theres somthing like this that already exists?

I would love to join the NCR as a foot soldier or a ranger of some kind, it'd be fun as hell! I dislike the restriction that Bethesda/Obsidian placed on your "freedom to do whatever you want" by forcing you to be completely neutral in terms of joining the NCR. I mean, hell, you did feed/clothe/heal/save 85% of their stationed troops in the Mojave.

This would be pretty nice for any NCR fan. Honestly any type of boot camp mod where you slowly became part of a army would be a fun experience to anyone. Changing up the type of factions you could do it with Such as Legion ,Brother-Hood, Ncr, Or even some random raider gang out there. The Idea is great and would probably be a very popular mod if someone could figure out how to make it.

This is a great idea! I could see this being like an extra quest that you could gain bonus perks off of. I would definitely spend time trying to become and NCR soldier

Not sure why bethesda didn't add anything like that to the game already, You would think that the NCR would be recruiting more because of their lack of occupation and foot solders in the Mojave.

After posting, I thought of the quote "If you were in the NCR, you'd be halfway to General by now." or something like that and thought "why can't I be halfway to General?! "

i vaguely remember a mod called "in the ncr" or something like that where you join as a recruit and move up the ranks sadly i haven't the slightest clue where i had seen it

This sounds great, I wish someone would make that, even if it was just quest stuff like the civil wr stuff in skyrim, although I prefer being able to have sort of a squad, where they all have different personalities and progress with you.

Edit: You know what, I have no idea how to do companion mods but I think I'll try and make a group of companions like this, put them in a camp or something, add a tent for the player...

always hated how you could help the ncr but could not join so this sound like a good idea

I like the idea of boot, and then going on ncr campaigns against The Legion. Wouldn't it also be neat to be able to join the Legions forces and see the war from the POV of a legionnaire?

NCR Bootcamp would be pretty sweet, I for one motion that this become a reality all in favor?

I tried that a few months ago, and I could barely get it to work. I got stuck and couldn't progress.

its a shame really because i was working on something a lot similar to this, featuring quests companions, a ranking system, a pay day system and different armors and berets for each rank spanning private - general (like 85% of it was completed) i say its a shame because my hard drive met Mr floor and broke which took all of my works in progress and all of my games with it. Dark times

No need to discontinue your own work if there's one already crafted in the same vein. If yours is different--or better--there's no reason that it doesn't need to exist.

I currently am on Christmas break so I am going to start re scripting it because what else do you do for a two week span, however everything was on my broken hard drives, so models and textures are going to have to wait until I get 3dx max back and get used to it again.

I think it would be a pretty good feature in the next game if you could actually JOIN the faction and not just work for them.I'd love to be able to go through the ranks and reach the top.

I agree, but not just NCR I wish you could join any faction. From being a Raider to Legion, as well as NCR. That would be a great feature.

Yeah I think this could be a good idea.

F:NV's main quests did this. At a basic level anyway,

Except in Skyrim while you join the guild, get to know it's members, in this your nothing more than a glorified mercenary, and some people want to be more involved than that.
