Hey all!
New to the forum, obviously. Been slowly transitioning from a console gamer to a PC gamer. Big fan of GTA, started playing Fallout of my Xbox, but had to sell. PC is so much more convenient. Big fan of post-apoc. RPGs, so planning to buy Fallout NV on steam soon.
Any tricks or tips on how to get the most out of NV, please let me know! Always open to suggestions.
Thanks, and hope to see you around!

Well good news to you, gtav is coming to steam edit: Get some mods such as wasteland defense so that you can turn NV into somewhat of a sandbox.

Welcome to the community! I recommend reading the FAQ and rules to get a better understanding of what will go on in this community. Be sure to post, be active and most importantly make friends! Be sure to stick around the chat too, might not be full or people in it at all times, but that's because it's weekdays. I stick around there a lot, so hope to see you there!

Welcome to the community! I remember when I first started playing pc games, used to play fallout new Vegas on the 360 and always wanted more flare to my game. Found out about modding and here I am today, luckily you picked the best forum to get started with your pc gaming! I would definitely see what mods are out there for you, so many to choose from to make your game the way you want it to be! Again, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome

Welcome to the community, Dim. A few months ago I've only just switched to PC as well. I did play both PC and console for a few years, but now I got a proper gaming PC I honestly can't go back to the consoles.
I used to play Jedi Academy and KOTOR as well, I grew up on those games, nice to see someone who loves those games too. Hope we get along well.

Step One: Buy Bethesda games. Step Two: Nexus Mod Manager Step Three: Infinite Fun
I switched from console to pc about a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. The only thing I miss is Smash Bros.

I try to keep current with the Nintendo consoles, otherwise I'm a pretty dedicated PC gamer. There's not much on the PS/XB consoles (aside from the occasional exclusive like The Last of Us) that I care about.
But I'll always be loyal to Nintendo. They're the reason I am a gamer... experiences like Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Yoshi's Island, and of course Metroid/Super Metroid (the latter of which I consider the best game of all time).
Anyway, welcome to the forum!

The last of us is fantastic, I just beat it the other day. Incredible. And I have played Skyrim, not so much Oblivion, and a dabbled a bit in fallout, but nothing to extensive.
And i barely mod. I touched a bit of the LUA code, and i tried to get into modeling, but it's difficult to find time to actually learn and practice when I'm in school.
All in all, I would not call myself a modder, only a mod and game enthusiast

The world of modding shall bring new found ecstasy and new found frustrations.
I think you will cry tears of joy once you have access to Captain Rex's clone trooper armors.
Fives is in there
He is also my favorite clone trooper.

All too true. There's modding your game, then there's making mods for your game. The process of learning what mods should be used with which other ones, and the constant process of making such mods. If you're a modder, it's a laboring process you love, that is really laboring. It's a constant frustration, and it's really frustrating when something you're working on turns out less than how you hoped it'd be. It's still better than console gaming.

I know... Seeing some of the stuff he has posted on the screenshots makes me way too excited. All I have to do is be patient... hopefully.

Take it from me DimDim it is well worth the wait, just continue to show everyone that you are a valuable and trusted member of the community and you'll be there in no time.

So if I have my info correct there's going to be new streaming capabilities with Xbox One and the new Windows 10? Will this make anyone want to invest in an Xbox if you can play those console-only titles, like Halo, on your PC? Windows 10 seems promising. It's hard for me to choose one over the other. I'm so accustomed to a controller for multiplayer FPS that it's what I ultimately prefer. However there is no doubt the power and capability of a PC has over consoles that makes games like Fallout superior on PC. I guess you can argue that you can use controllers on PCs but still to me it's not the same. I feel that in some small ways some players will have advantages over others based on their machine power to response and internet connection. I've also been a fan of Xbox Live as well over other networks so I may be bias.
