Welcomed to the community, Dim. The community is great at modding so you good in no time. I use to play only my console but then I learn that you mod pretty much everything on pc. So I started playing on and eventually I got hook up.
I recommend using some of this mods.
Nexus Mod Manager: It's a software that let's you download, organize, and quick use of mods. I use to do manually install but I use this and it saves me a lot of trouble. (There another mod organize called Fallout Mod Manager, I haven't use it before. But a lot of people like it, So I suggest using either one) PS: Nexus Mod Manager also support other games such as Skyrim, XCOM, and etc.
Fallout New Vegas 4GB: It basically allow you to load up (I hope I get this correct) the entire memory space for FNV and useful if you have tons of mod.
NVSE (New Vegas Script Extender): It expands the scripting capabilities of Fallout New Vegas. A lot of mods are going to need this to function properly.
