| Can anyone confirm that they have successfully enabled bReplaceHeap in NVSR without getting crashes?
If i set it to 1 the game crashes within about 15 minutes. I've tried iHeapAlgorithm 1 to 8 and they all crash the game.
Would really love if there was a way to prevent it from crashing the game as it's the best thing i've tried that gets rid of those long pauses as new game data is loaded.
Cheers |

| Hmm, it seem there aren't as many people using New Vegas Stutter Remover as i had thought |

| I have it enabled and haven't crashed in a long time, but I'm not sure it does much for New Vegas as it has not helped with the pauses when terrain is loaded. they are truly horrible and are ruining the game for me.
I hope you can get it sorted but I'm starting to lose hope. |

| That's strange, crashes every time it's turned on for me regardless of which algorithm i use. Maybe there's some incompatibilities with something else i'm using, though i've got no idea what it could be I was actually wrong about bReplaceHeap helping with data being loaded, it seems to be ENBoost that has helped with that! Thanks for posting! |

| I must admit i don't know much about heap, but I'll try to help. Are you using the 4gb enabler? if not you definitely should be, it will help immensely. My heap settings are algorithm 6 with 900 heap size. Oddly ENBoost only increases my stuttering dramatically, regardless of settings, it works fine in skyrim tho. I have been fighting this problem for two and a half years but I'm not ready to give up yet. I wish you luck. |

| I was using the 4GB enabler but thought there was no need for it using ENBoost.
I'll give the 4GB enabler another go and remove ENBoost to see if that stops bReplaceHeap from crashing
Thanks again! |

| You should use both, they don't replace each other.
ENBoost offloads the memory used by textures to a separate process.
While the 4gb enabler expands the address space the game can use.
4gb enabler should have the most impact on game stability and performance, so prioritize that but both can be used no problem. |

| Will do!
Should any of these settings in the enblocal.ini be different when using both?
[MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=true DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=256 VideoMemorySizeMb=2048 EnableCompression=true

| Nope they're good, i don't think DisableDriverMemoryManager needs to be enabled, its used to combat buggy drivers and nvidias are pretty solid right now, i'm not sure about AMDs tho. it shouldn't cause any problems if you leave it enabled anyway. Let me know how it goes and if you need further help don't hesitate to contact me, I'm always ready to help. |

| Using the 4GB enabler worked. Just flew the XRE Vertibird over NV for nearly an hour with zero crashing (not vertibird crashes, had plenty of those! ) from having bReplaceHeap turned on! Thanks for the help man much appreciated! |

| Sounds nice about ENBoost, should try it.
I`m running BOSS sorted plugin list, alonside with NVSR and 4GB patch and rarely having crashes, sounds like you were getting an out of memory CTDs, using Large Heap.
Heap is a tricky thing in FNV, even more tricky than in Oblivion. Make it too large, game wont even recognize it, make it to small - will have out of memory CTD, when changing locations with alot of actors\very huge textures. If you dont want to waste your time, finding the best heap option for your build, I`ll suggest to keep it in default. _________________ -- brainball - My Achievements:

| I've got my heap size at 900. I see there's some people on the NVSR forum that have theirs at 1024 but i haven't tested it myself.
I've now stopped using ENBoost, well i've set both ExpandSystemMemoryX64 and ReduceSystemMemoryUsage to false anyway. Those two settings were causing far too much stuttering! |

| Stuttering appears, when you use type of heap, thats not suited for your system\build, also can be caused by other functions from NVSR, that should be disabled. Cant say exactly what functions, at work now, dont have INI at hand. I beleive default INI config will work perfectly fine on most game builds.
There is a description for each, also short explanation about how they function. NVSR is a complex thingy =) Tinckering around its INI may reduce CTD and stutter to zero, just try 1 function at a time and run 5-10 mins in exterior. I spent about 1 hour on configuring it, but its well worth the time.
I beleive I`m using heap=5 with 750. Heap option for win 7, normal one, not fastest. _________________ -- brainball - My Achievements:
