Hi friends,

Since I officially gained time to re-install and play my beloved Fallout 3 I've been questioning some things and hopefully someone can help me clarify them.

My first question is it possible to use the WAR Animations in Fallout 3 however I only wish to have the 3rd Person and NPC animations, I don't want the first person animations because I don't use RH_Ironsights and they tend to look really odd when I zoom in with a weapon such as aiming through the currently equip weapon.

Secondly, this has plagued every modded Fallout 3 that I have ever plagued and I'd like to know a possible fix. The Laser Rifle...I'm not sure what could even be causing this issue. The only things I could think that would be effecting it would be EVE or FWE.

In addition! holotapes seem to have the same issue which completely blew my mind because nothing even touches the holotapes.

You might try switching your load order around (eg placing EVE.esm before FalloutWanderersEdition.esm, then after FalloutWanderersEdition.esm).
If that does not work then I could give you some advice based on my experience with handling these issues.
Note that I have EVE installed, but not FWE and so I will be using only EVE in this example.

I would open EVE.esm in GECK and find the laser rifle's texture set(s). Then I would ensure that the 'Diffuse' and 'Normal/Gloss' maps are using the textures that I want. There were two texture sets for me, '1stPersonLaserRifleTexture01' and '1stPersonLaserRifleTexture02'. In this case, I want them to use EVE's laser rifle .dds files which are as follows:

1stPersonLaserRifleTexture01 texture set
-1stPersonLaserRifle01.dds -for the 'Diffuse' map. Located in Data/Textures/Weapons/2HandRifle/
-1stPersonLaserRifle01_n.dds -for the 'Normal/Gloss' map. Located in Data/Textures/Weapons/2HandRifle/

1stPersonLaserRifleTexture02 texture set
-1stPersonLaserRifle02.dds -for the 'Diffuse' map. Located in Data/Textures/Weapons/2HandRifle/
-1stPersonLaserRifle02_n.dds -for the 'Normal/Gloss' map. Located in Data/Textures/Weapons/2HandRifle/

Eg picture: 1stPersonLaserRifleTexture01 texture set:

Because you have FWE installed, it may have overwritten the textures of EVE's laser rifle (or vice versa if EVE was installed after FWE). I am not sure if FWE even modifies the laser rifle textures. I hope my advice was something new to you and that you can understand. Please ask questions if you have any!

If you have recently installed any texture mods that replace the laser rifle, try to disable then reenable Archive Invalidation, if that doesn't work then uninstall the texture mod.

Hey mate, sorry i didn't see this topic earlier. haha

Yes it's totally possible to use most of WARs 3rd person anims in fallout 3, simply only install the _male folder, that's where all the 3rd person anims are located, both the player and NPCs share the same anims.

The only ones that won't work are it's "new" reload anims, since Fallout 3 lacks the reload slots that New Vegas has, same deal with FNVs attack anims and such.

Schemenator and alonewolf already gave some good advice but that texture problem bears a striking resemblance to the one caused by Fallout Remastered back when that was a thing.

It's possible that some bug fixing mod has incorporated this "fix" as well, can you post your load order? I'd like to take a look.

I had the exact same problem and I mostly went insane. But, I found a solution. Make sure you have both FWE and EVE then get blackened FWE - EVE

Blackened is a fallout 3 mod, hopefully it helps

I noticed that the T-51b armor in the background of that screenshot was oddly colored, is it happening with that, too?

I also had some relative issues with armored Power Armor gloves, try that? It's not really friendly with the DX armors.
