| I'm just curious about how you guys would want the next bethesda game *ehem. fallout 4* should end. should it end like fallout 3 (w/broken steel dlc) that has the ending screen then lets you continue to play? should it be like new vegas that just ends with no continuation? or should it be like skyrim which has no ending cinematic sequence at all? For me personally, I like the fallout 3 that ends with the narration sequence and then lets you play on afterwards. _________________ "καὶ τὸ φῶς ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ φαίνει καὶ ἡ σκοτία αὐτὸ οὐ κατέλαβεν" -And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not

| I have agree with you, as much as i prefer New Vegas over fallout 3, the finite ending is very annoying.
I can definitely see why Obsidian did it tho, there's no way they could of done justice to how much the hoover dam battle changed the Mojave, not with their budget and the time restraints.
As for fallout 4, i don't believe Bethesda can create narratives epic or affecting enough to justify a final ending, so the broken steel way it is. |

| I would like to see the game continue after the ending, Broken Steel style. One thing that's annoying about New Vegas is how the final battle is never really finished, since you just go back to the save before it. _________________ |

| Continuing after the ending is really the only appropriate to do. Having "For The Republic" stuck in my pipboy bugged me and made me feel as if I didn't finish the game.
So I'm hoping they'll do a broken steel style ending too. |

| There's actually a mod for new vegas that let's you continue after ending but it just doesn't cut it like broken steel. So I guess it is the only way to go. _________________ "καὶ τὸ φῶς ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ φαίνει καὶ ἡ σκοτία αὐτὸ οὐ κατέλαβεν" -And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not

| I prefer the ending type of Broken Steel, one of the bad things of New Vegas is the no option to play after the ending. _________________ |

| Bit of both.
I think the story should go through constant moral struggles for the protagonist as he tries to save humanity (in whatever location it's set), but be constantly disheartened/knocked back as the world around him deteriorates even further day by day.
Eventually have the choice of giving up on the world around him Lonesome Road style, aka nuke everything, wipe the slate clean again for a fresh start, die in the process, game over.
Or reject that and continue on trying to restore order to the chaos through some extra missions, preferably to no avail. |

| I think that you should meet up with the courier at the end and the both of you turn out to be clones. After it shows you and the courier walking off similar to the fallout 3 scene with Dogmeat. |

| I think it should be done Broken Steel style with a narrative and then let the game continue, but let you see the effects on the world that you choices caused. That to me is the best way to have a game that is open world sand box style. _________________ |

| I was (like pretty much everyone else was) upset when I discovered NV had a finite ending. I hoped for a DLC like broken steel to come out, but we were all disappointed. All we want is to be able to continue the game AFTER the final mission. Is that so hard? _________________ - Can you figure it out?:

Well, given time and money constraints, kinda, yeah. |

| I hope they do it more like Broken Steel too. I realy enjoy playing FNV, but on the other hand I never enjoyed the ending. I can understand that they couldn't make it a ending where you could play after, but they should at least fixed that with a dlc. I hope for Fallout 4 they do it the same as Skyrim where you still can play and explore after the main quest ending and hopefully it will be in the vanilia game itself and not in a dlc. |

| Continuation is always a must...here's hoping they include unlockable quests and things to do for other NPC's who have survived.
Based on level of character for when you finish the game the more unlocked quests there may be.
Would make it interesting! _________________ "We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold." Film Noir Discussion Thread |

| If there's a strong story with multiple endings, a finite ending is fine - I can understand the development time would be insane to make all the post game changes. If it's going to be as vapid as Fallout 3's ending, though, there's no excuse to not be able to continue after the end. |
