Using GECK in Linux Empty
PostSubject: Using GECK in Linux   Using GECK in Linux EmptyMon Nov 03, 2014 7:05 am

I'm hoping that I'm not the only one on here who runs FO3 on Linux, so here goes. I've been working on a companion mod, but the GECK has some functionality issues in WINE. So far, I've noticed three things:

1. Creating a new dialogue topic causes GECK to crash
2. Can't see the text in certain fields (i.e., conditions for NPC dialogues, unable to select, and therefore delete or modify, a dialogue topic)
3. Viewing the face model for any NPC causes a crash

Now, because of #2 above, I'm unable to correctly write a longer script for a dialogue. However, another issue in FO3edit reduces the character limit in scripts to some arbitrary number. Needless to say, this is all very frustrating. I've tried looking for a workaround for #2 above, but nothing has worked.

So can someone else using Linux help me out? If not, can I get someone with Windows to help me out? The only thing I need to work on is the scripts, and I'm fine with listing another person in the credits when I (eventually) release it.

I'll post a video later if my explanation isn't good enough.
