Hi! (I know, clever, right?)
OK, so I can't the only person who thinks these little "tell us about yourself in 500 words or less" blurbs is a lot like the really inane "so tell us why you'd like to work here" or "so what do you look for in a relationship" questions you get asked while job hunting and/or dating. So while reading this, if you can just imagine the usual socially awkward stammering and lack of full eye contact, it'll enhance the realism.
New to the site (did I mention the clever bit? didn't think so), but been with the Fallout franchise since the demo for the original Fallout that came on a PC Gamer magazine CD-ROM (God, I'm old). Found the link to find you fine modders and mod enthusiasts from a YouTube video posted by ExoticRPGs about modding New Vegas, which I've been getting into lately. I played the game on console originally and thought it was better than I expected it to be. But having dabbled with some mods for my PC install, I'm now finally seeing what this game really could be, even with an 11 year old engine under it all.
Haven't been part of the Fallout discussion scene since the height of No Mutants Allowed (haven't posted in close to 2 decades there so no idea what my old account name was. I posted a few FO1 screen caps of funny things I saw in game). The 2D games have been my go-to Fallout staples since their release, along with titles like Wasteland 2 and 3, but after watching a video on New Vegas by Hbomberguy, I've come to develop a really big interest in exploring both the game design and just the general game enjoyment of NV.
And if it can look as pretty as possible 11 years after its release, all the better.
So other than being older than the dirt that blows across the Mojave, I'm from just outside of Ottawa, Canada. I can say that without fear because Canada doesn't get annexed according to canon for about another 50 or so years, so I think I'm pretty safe.
So that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
Thanks for having me here.
(Things will get less awkward from this point forward I promise)
